One silver lining of not having the Boston-based summer league is that the C's will participate in two leagues this year. Who are you looking forward to seeing out there? Last year Kendrick got hurt early but Banks impressed, Hunter earned himself a job, and Kedrick Brown showed signs of life as well. We'll see how many rookies we get from the draft, but I think Kendrick and Hunter have to be there. Jiri may not even need to go, but it might be nice to see him work on his shot. Jumaine Jones if he's still on the team I think would be on the squad. Perhaps Mihm?

Kendrick Perkins and Marcus Banks would be my top choices to see develop in the Summer Leagues. Perkins has to work on A through Z as far as being an effective player in the league. He has the size, but he needs to refine his footwork and learn how to use his body for easy shots. Prior to the draft, the rumors on him were he had a terrible work ethic. Not a good sign for Celtic fans, but the void at the starting center position, should give Perkins some motivation to do well in the Summer Leagues.

Marcus Banks was a steal for the Celtics. I think he's going to be one of the better players from this last year's draft class when all is said and done. He has all the tools to be a premiere PG in the league, and having Doc Rivers for a mentor is only going to motivate him harder. He's still a year away from being the everyday starter at the 1. The Summer League will allow him to gain the experience of leading a team and improving his defense.

I think perkins and Hunter will dominate in the Summer Leagues this year. Hunter got some good minutes near the end of the season, though he didn't get enough. If anyone saw perkkins at the end of the season, he looked like he had gotten into great shape and if given the chance could have done better than Mihm did in the playoffs.Hopefully Banks will be able to work through his turnover problem in the summer. Banks also needs to be less of a shoot first point guard.

Also in the summer, Jiri should probably go, though he only really needs to go to one of the two leagues. But also we'll see the teams rookie(s) in the summer leagues. it going to be a crazy summer for this team

I'd say that's an understatement. I guess its a little silly even thinking about the summer league before we know what happens with the draft/trades/etc. but I thought I'd get a head start on it.

I think Hunter will end up looking like a Man-Child during summer leagues.

I know many have taken the easy route in knocking him for his height, but desire and hardwork are going to make this kid a player in this league. He knows he's got his detractors and he's using it as fuel. I think he's going to end up being at least a Corliss Williamson type player, who can be a big factor off the bench for this team for years to come.

As far as Perkins goes: He needs his work and to date, I've heard nothing but good things about his willingness to do what they need him to do to develop his game. He's lost alot of his baby fat and put on some muscle and is listening to those who are trying to teach him. His footwork needs some serious work, but I can see promise in him. Here's hoping that summer work helps that progress by leaps and bounds so that he can help off the bench next season.

Banks: Well, let's just say that while Markus has all the physical intangibles to be a factor at the point in this league, that's not really his shortcoming right now. HIs mental game needs ALOT of work. As a pg, your job has to be to pass first and Markus just doesn't look to do that. He's still stuck in UNLV mode, where he's trying to be an offensive factor, from a scoring standpoint. He puts the ball on the floor before looking for teammates leaking out on the break and misses ALOT of passes, both on the break and in the half-court set.

Once he learns to play like a pg(if that indeed can ever happen, as some will argue you can't be taught that intangible) then he just needs to work on being able to finish when he gets to the hole and be more consistant with his short jumpers.

I agree with you 100% on Hunter, I think he'll be next years version of Carlos Boozer.

Perkins could turn into a good player, or he could become an athlete with no real basketball skills, I haven't seen enough of him to make a real prediction for next season.

You hit the nail on the head with Banks, he needs to learn how to work in the half court offense, he can run the break with the best of them but he looks for his shot too much in the half court.

Banks is going to average 12 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 5 apg, and 1.5 steals next season he is also going to start

I think Marcus Banks will really impress in summer league. He's got a great combination of speed and strength. I saw him a few times, and like you guys said, he doesn't really run the team. He seems like he is just out there playing ball, not really trying to set the team up into the offense. Even with that, I think that Banks will be a good player one day.
