Here's an article that talks about bandwagon laker fans....Famous bandwagoners... <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I have to be tortured every year, as the big names come out of the woodwork pretending to care about the only franchise in L.A. that matters. Denzel, Sly, Leo, Tobey, Ashton and Demi, Will and Jada, the young studs from "The OC," Cameron and Justin, and of course king Jack, all flock to the Staples Center for their complimentary courtside seats that they'll never pay a penny for. (For the record, I truly believe that Jack is an actual diehard Laker fan, unlike the rest of them. However, Jack is part of the problem, not the solution. If Jack were David Hasselhoff, maybe being a Laker fan wouldn't be so damn cool.) These A-Listers are a bunch of frauds. I adore Denzel Washington, the Oscar-winning actor, but Denzel "The Laker Fan" ... I despise. Notice that he's always wearing a Yankees cap as well. Let me guess, his favorite football team is the Cowboys. Please. If you want me to take you seriously as a sports fan, you have to like a team that's not so fashionable (unless of course you grew up in L.A., which is never the case). </div> Link
Thats an awsome article, LA does seem too fease up some bandwagon celebs fans the last couple of years. The same thing is happening here in Cleveland. When was the last time Jay-Z would come to Gund Arena to see the Cavs? Celebs don't watch sports for the teams itself, they watch sports for the teams that would entertain them.
Yeah, I also read that article this morning, pretty good stuff. The Lakers really do have a lot of fake fans from the celeb crowd, but I've never really cared about them anyway so I'm not about to start. As long as you support your team and know you are a Laker fan that's all that matters to me.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">I wonder how many how many Lakers fans here actually live in LA. </div> Well I don't, as you can see. But the Lakers do come down here and play and it's close enough. Besides I've been a fan of the Lakers since I first started watching basketball in 87. I get all fustrated at them like they were Hawaii and happy when they triumph.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">I wonder how many how many Lakers fans here actually live in LA.</div> Looks like you've been a bigger Spurs fan than most people in San Antonio for a bit now...where do you live again? ""
You won't believe how many people are Lakers fans where i'm at I'm in the Golden State Warriors Market, but nobody really cares for them,so it's mostly The Lakers,or The Kings I Think Most Laker Fans live all over the World!!!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting ANiMuS:</div><div class="quote_post">Looks like you've been a bigger Spurs fan than most people in San Antonio for a bit now...where do you live again? ""</div>When did I ever say I was a Spurs fan? Because I am cheering for them now that my team is not in the playoffs? Get your facts straight. Don't let your frustrations get the best of you.
You've been talking about the Spurs non-stop for the past several months, you talk about Tony Parker's performance against the Lakers as if Bibby and Hudson didn't do the same thing, and you have a signature that indicates you've been a Spurs fan all along. What do you have that doesn't point to the conclusion that you just jumped on their bandwagon?
A side comment on this. Whoever wrote the article really shouldn't be complaining. If these famous actors, actresses, celebrities, etc. are wealthy enough to purchase these seats, why complain and say they aren't 'real Lakers fans'. It's just for entertainment.

I am commenting on all the games and telling it like it is. Am I wrong by saying the Spurs are dominating the Lakers? The frustration is evident.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">I wonder how many how many Lakers fans here actually live in LA. </div> I dont right now, But i am moving back to Murrieta, CA...an before that I lived in San Bernardino County, and I was born in Los Angeles County
Im one of those Laker fans that doesnt live in LA. I've been a Laker fan ever since i was born. My dad is a huge Laker fan and ever since i saw my first NBA game he told me about the Lakers. Just like daddy im still a Laker fan. Im a fan through the bad times like now we're behind 2-0 on the Spurs and im there for the happy time. I dont mind the celebrity fans. The true Laker fans know who the real fans and who just there for the Showtime.
I wouldn't call you a bandwagon fan just because you don't live in LA. If you have followed this team through the thick and thin than you are a true fan. I just don't see why people are fans of teams that are in other states. If you can't go to any of their games than why are you cheering for them? Shouldn't you be cheering for the home team? Just my 2 cents.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting ANiMuS:</div><div class="quote_post">Looks like you've been a bigger Spurs fan than most people in San Antonio for a bit now...where do you live again? ""</div> owned. Uhm... you don't have to live in the same city as the team to be a "true fan".. some of us can DRIVE to their games.. Noone should have to deal with this stupidity, and there is NBA on TV for a reason. edit: Maybe some of us used to/have lived where our favorite team is?
lol..how can you be a true fan of a team when you have two favorite teams? And the Jazz and Lakers of all teams.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">I wonder how many how many Lakers fans here actually live in LA. </div> I live in Iowa and I'm a Laker fan. But, yea, considering we have no professional sports franchises, closest thing we have is the Iowa Cubs, I don't think you can say anything about me for like the Lakers.
