He's like a KO clone, but without being so stuck up and arrogant. He gets you to play 110% every minute your on the floor, otherwise you'll be riding the pine.

He, unlike KO, also has better interpersonal skills and is respected by his players. He molds the offense to the team's strengths (GS averaged like what? 94PPG this year and thats after losing Tawn, and Arenas and while NVE, Speedy,Troy Murphy and Damp were injured through long stretches throughout the whole season) That's pretty impressive.

He's still and defensive minded coach first and foremost. He seems like a coach who can develop players too. I think he'd be a good fit, that is if he is what the GM wants in a coach. They have to be compatible, that's definitely the number 1 priority.

Well here's how i look at it. If we can get DrJ as a GM i'm happy if we don't then im still happy cuz there are more experienced Gm's out there. If we did have J then we could easily ride people in with his name. It really doesnt matter to me who we have a GM, as long as he is known in the business and respected. Now for HC - head coach, i would have to say that TV analysts off sportsnet. you know the one who's always saying HELLOO!! when a great play occurs.
He was a candidate last year with KO(not sure). I think it's a good experience for a team for a fresh start, and i think they need to think long term.!!! thats what makes a team, DEVelopment, developement, and developement!!!. Look at minnesota! flip he is the ideal coach in my mind. Look! he molded KG into an MVP and now they're on there way to The championship and maybe even for many years to come. In my opinion you need to think loooong term but not that long, probly in the range of two to three years down the line!

Theres my two cents!

You must be talking about Jack Armstrong, and I don't know why, because his biggest experience is when he was coaching at Niagara.

I'd rather have a coach come in with some NBA experience, because I'm sick of others making excuses for coaches that are new to the league. I say we try our best to get Erick Musselman here, hes got NBA experience, and he can obviously coach, with our core group of guys we have now I think he'd be a good fit.

I wouldn't like it if Collins came, I don't like how he rotated the players in Washington, he seemed to never play his young guys. He reminds me of KO because once someone does something wrong he'll bench them for a long period of time.

Agreed.

I like Doug Collins too, he has great intrapersonal skills and knows his stuff very well. I really don't want the Czar at all, I just have a feeling the players wouldn't respect him.

Well all this coaching talk really depends on who we hire as GM. It is very important for the two to have a great working relationship, or else the boat won't float for too long.

I hear the Raptors are interested in Tom Izzo of Michigan state. I dunno if he is interested back though.

I saw that on PTI today, I doubt it will happen. I haven't seen any other local sources or newspaper articles on it, only today where they briefly discussed it.

I also saw it The Score, it also listed Mike Woodson and Eric Musselman as some other candidates.

Chuck

What about chuck daley? he coached a while back! I think he won a championship with them but i aint sure, so dont take my word! He would be a very good and influential coach if he is still coaching though.

Let to remind you that Jordan was on the team @ the time he was coaching... and it was harder for the younger guys to play with Jordan cuz he expected so much from them

And i think either Collins/Musselman would be a good coach

Once again, the Raps are takin wayyyyyy too long to decide on something.
Hurry up already and get a coach...there aren't that many GOOD possibilities out there besides Musselman, Collins, Daley, Izzo, and Johnson, i suppose. My top choice would be Musselman, but i still wouldn't mind seeing Collins.

Oh, by the way I saw an article in the Star saying that Izzo is staying with the Spartans, no surpise there. I'm sure they'll get a coach in sometime, but I know that they're working out a lot of players for the upcoming draft.

Also the raptors could get Mike Fratello because the bulls missed out on him

It's not a huge necessity to get the coach before the draft anyways. Sure it would be nice for imput and personnel reasons but, this is Babcock's team and whoever he brings will have to be compatible at the end of the day. Besides, I'm pretty sure I heard Babcock say that he'll most likely have a coach in place by July 1st (canada day and Vince's wedding day for all y'all who didn't know) because we're sending a team off to Minny for our first summer league July the 6th. We'll go Sixers, Bobcats, Pistons and some other teams maybe one Euro club. Our first matchup will be against the Bobcats.

o and btw, Mike Fratello is a name that comes to mind. nobody has mentioned anything about him though.....maybe hes just too expensive for toronto or he doesnt want to come. what do u guys think?

I have heard that possible the old bucks coach forget his name may be intrested in the job and mabye bill cartwright would be intrested prbable wont be a really established coach though cause there arent many left around the nba mabye pat riley but toronto really isnt his style team
