``He has the credentials,'' owner George Shinn said Tuesday. ``I don't want to say something that might discourage somebody else, but his record speaks for itself.''

Shinn made the comments at New Orleans' charity hospital, where he spent part of his 63rd birthday giving presents to women who gave birth that day. </div>

Byron Scott is a racist jerk. Too bad he's getting any consideration.....ANYWHERE.

Sorry if that's rude, but I've had it with Scott and his mouth. He let his own animosity from playing with the Lakers allow him to make very poor statements against Boston, which has more credits towards furthering minority and particularly black athlete milestones than any team in the association.

    Okay....aside from being a racist.....

I don't think Scott will be successful without a good assistant coach to back him. It is apparent to me now that Lawrence Frank and the other Nets assistants were running the show for him. Once his players stopped responding to him he had no purpose being there.

I have the same concerns, but unfortunately, He has to get some of the credit for the Nets success, as we can't prove it wasn't him doing the work.

Sorry for the racism rant, but that stuff really tweaks me.
