I personally don't care anymore with so many players not wanting to play and not able to play. I just don't think he's that good yet or Carmelo.

hmm. Steph and LeBron combo = street ball off the back borad dunks. They just need shaq, that is it, no body is good enough to stop shaq, not even Yao, and they should invite Ron Artest too, he needs to punish those euros.

Duncan has said he will be there. I don't if he officially stated that he would... but he has told papers here that.

I kinda forgot about Lebron as far as the Olympic team was concerned. I care, and look foward to seeing him play for the U.S.

That's a huge honor, it's nice to see such great players actually take a break from basketball, finally do something out of it for themselves for once. Would this team be able to win or compete?

I don't think they'll slaughter them as well, although if he does go, Duncan surely will. This would probably still be exciting to watch, the best of the best going at each other, minus the USA of course. Is Nash partcipating for Canada?

most likely players who are playing now in the playoffs probably won't play, therefore non-playoff players have been resting so they will have the energy and can afford to play for usa. maybe during olympic yrs, something can be done so we can have the best players play like kobe, kidd, shaq and dominate the world. maybe a shortened season by a few games or shorten the playoff/end of reg season schedule so everything is over earlier and players can get a good rest and heal themselves before the olympics. just a thought, probably won't happen.

they are just beeing nice cause he talked about how he should have been in the allstar game. too bad all those good players wont play, like kobe, he would have been a good impact on the team and vince, he does good in olympics and just look at the outcome of how they won with him on the team.

AI and Vince dominated last summer, too bad Vince isn't joining and I think AI is also trying to heal those injuries. As long as KG, TD or Shaq are there they will be ok.

    Yes.

But yeah this should be a good one.

    The starting five could be:
    C- Tim Duncan
    PF- Kevin Garnett
    SF- Ron Artest
    SG- LeBron James
    PG- Allen Iverson

^Ron Artest has not even been asked to participate in this years games. Iverson and KG are out as well. I don't see Duncan playing unless he loses then next round against the Lakers.

Sources told the AP that if Shaquille O'Neal decides to sit out the Olympics, Kenyon Martin of New Jersey and Lamar Odom of Miami are among the players being discussed as possible replacements. If Bibby withdraws, Sam Cassell is the leading candidate to replace him, and Ron Artest and Carmelo Anthony are among the names being discussed to replace McGrady, if he backs out.

Also, sorry ya'll thought Kidd wasn't playing, it is Garnett not playing...

As much as I respect Lebron, it's wrong. He and Carmelo are equally as good, this shouldn't be a PR attracting team, but a GOOD one. Carmelo Anthony deserves a place in the national team is Lebron does...
