<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Larry Brown has ripped Rod Thorn for firing Byron Scott and now has insinuated that Lawrence Frank stole signals from the Pistons' sideline in Game 3. "Stealing signals ... isn't that baseball?" Frank joked yesterday. Long before Frank replaced Scott, the fiery coach was known for screaming out opponents' plays before they materialized because it was his job as an assistant. "I'm just a novice in the business," the 33-year-old Frank said. "We send scouts out and what they do is they go and they find the play calls. So, when we're studying the film, we're trying to match the play call with it. So if by any chance you do hear the play call, you tell your team what that play is. As an assistant we did it, as head coach, we're not doing anything different now. I didn't know anything about stealing signals. I don't have much of a response."</div> <div align="center"><u>Full Story</u></div> <div align="center"> </div> <div align="left">Am I the only one that thinks coaches all over the league does this? Why is Larry whining so much to the media lately? </div>
Would someone please shut Larry Brown up. He's now officially made himself sound and look ridiculous. Stealing signals? Who cares? John Wooden once said the following: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"I'll go over to the opposing lockerroom and hand them our play books. It's not what you're doing, it's how you do it. If you execute correctly, it doesn't matter if the other team has your plays in advance, they won't be able to stop you."</div> Grow up Larry and be professional for god sakes.
Well Larry Brown is upset. His team got killed in New Jersey so he has to find something to complain about. But I will say this I do think Lawaerence Frank is stealing his signs after free throws. Frank look dead at the Pistons bench last night when Rasheed was at the free throw line. It look like he was trying to see what type of defensive play Brown was going to call. Then he decided what play we were going to run against the Pistons defense. I think when Lawernce Frank stayed up all night after game 2. He noticed that LB was giving away his signs to easily, so he figured away to use it to his advantage. But that isnt his fault thats Larry Brown fault. During free throws when a coach wants to run a certain play or defense they call over their point guard. And then the point guard relayes the play to the other players. Brown has done that he calling plays out in the open so whats to complain about.
thats a great quote by Wooden. yea i'm really suprised about how coach brown has publicly voiced himself. of course he has the right, but i expected more mature/professional comments from larry. he complains about sheed not getting the right calls and the refs hate him. but kmart was in the same situation and you know what he did? no, byron scott didnt plead his case to the media about kmart not gettin calls, kmart played through it and LEARNED what he needed to do to get some respect from the officials and learned the game better. how much longer is sheed going to have to use the excuse that it's not his fault, but the officials. if i recall, the officials didn't make him a 'bad' guy and get technicals and flagrants in the past seasons. sheed did it to himself, he has to accept responsibility and change. as for the signal stealing and coach frank going and standing up to half court is just plain of crying. i can't see any other way around it. i dont think he is, but the past two games those comments come across to be as being a sore loser. i know coach brown isnt one, but those comments sure are sore loser material.
What bothers me about this is the fact that Brown is acting like it's never been done before. Every team tries to figure out which play the other team is using. LB has been constantly whining so it does not surprise me he would be saying such garbage.
this doesnt just happen in basketball, it happens in baseball all the time too. its competition. doing anything to win. remember, coach frank has to do more work than a former nba player turned coach would have to do b/c of obvisous reasons and reasons that have been mentioned every since LF took over. if he thinks he is stealing his 'signs' then make new ones or shorted your signaling. im sure coach frank is not the first coach to steal signs, if it is true, agains LB, its just plain frustration that absolutly nothing went their way while they were here in jersey.
Great quote by Wooden. Everybody does it. Why is he whining so much? It's not their plays that's making them lose the games. It's the executions. I mean, EVERYBODY in the league knows that the Nets will be running every chance they get. That's their bread and butter play. Yet they still get away with it. The other coaches didn't even have to steal "hand signals" to know that they're going to do it. It's because of the execution.
