''He's awesome -- the real deal,'' the Pacers' executive vice president/basketball operations said after his team's practice Tuesday at AmericanAirlines Arena. ''He's made that team. When he's out, they struggle. When he's in there, they're a good team.

''I like him at point guard. He makes plays. He's very unselfish. He can get the ball in the paint, shoot from outside. He's spectacular.''

I agree with Bird on every point. But I still think that he would be more effective as a 2 than a 1 in the NBA. Wade still has more turnovers than assists in this series against Indiana. As a point guard that is still a horrible stat to look at. It just means that he does not make the right decisions when passing the ball.

It has more to do with being a rookie running the point in the intense playoff atomosphere. There aren't many rookie point guards who don't turn the ball over alot when giving the responsibility to lead a team more so in the post season

Even though Wade will be a two guard some time in the future he can certainly play the point guard spot consistantly. The turnovers have more to do with lack of experience handlng the ball in pressure situations than anything else.

^I can live with that. I am not going to really disagree with Larry Legend on his talent. But I just don't like him at the point, rookie or no rookie. I admire what he has done in the playoffs so I don't want to take anything away from that. He's just not suited for the point guard position.

^I agree with him here. Wade is not a natural point guard. But, he sure is one hell of a player. You have to agree with that. And honestly speaking, playing out of position...he isn't doing half bad at point guard.

Also since Wade is a slasher his turnovers aren't mainly off passes actually, its a lot of offensive fouls and getting dtripped on the way to the basket.

But again, which rookie hasn't been the turnover prone?
Even the most hyped rookie LeBron had over 3 turnover per game and they say he's tru point guard. Tim Duncan 2.6, Jason Kidd 3.16.....blah blah

At the all star game, Dwyane went to the Legends brunch and they filmed it on HeatTV, all the hall of famers were complimenting him and whatnot, but Jerry West gave him the biggest props. Jerry West said he's the best rookie this year and isn't about flash and glamour by just throwing up 3's he wont make or doing highlight dunks, but he can draw the foul and he's very fundamentally sound.
