If you consider yourself a Laker fan take this test. Passing is 12 or better. Will post results later. 1. Name the Lakers starting five in Game 2 versus the Spurs. (If you get this wrong, simply log on to a travel website, find a cheap ticket and get the hell out of here.) 2. Who is Lew Alcindor? 3. Believe it or not, Shaq hasn't always been a Laker. What's the only other team Shaq Diesel has played for? 4. What's Shaq's alma mater? 5. Even more shocking, Kobe wasn't originally a Laker when he was drafted in 1996. Name the team that drafted him, and who did the Lakers trade to acquire the teen phenom from Lower Merion High school? 6. The Lakers were not founded in L.A. What city was the original home of this storied franchise? 7. How many championships have the Lakers won since moving to L.A.? 8. Why did Shaq have to change his number from 32 to 34 after joining the Lakers as a free agent? 9. Who was the last tenured coach before Zen Phil? 10. Where did the Lakers play before calling The Staples Center home? 11. Who coined the phrase "Showtime"? 12. Who was the starting center for Game 6 against the heavily favored Dr. J-led Sixers, scoring 42 points, grabbing 15 rebounds and dishing out seven assists, shocking the hometown crowd at the Spectrum and clinching the "Showtime" Lakers their first NBA championship 123-107? 13. Who was the starting point guard for the Lakers before Magic was drafted in 1979? 14. With Magic hobbled, what team shocked the Lakers in the first round of the 1981 playoffs, led by Moses Malone? 15. Who was the Lakers coach when they lost? 16. Who is the Lakers all-time leading scorer? 17. What savvy veteran led the Lakers in scoring and assists in 1992-1993? 18. During that campaign, the Lakers finished eighth in the Western Conference, and almost pulled a major upset in the first round. Who was the team? 19. In 1971-1972, the Lakers went on an ungodly tear, winning a ridiculous 33 in a row (an NBA record that still holds to this day) in the regular season. Who did they beat in the NBA Finals, and what future Laker coach was on that team? 20. Due to free agency compensation for the loss of Gail Goodrich, the Lakers were awarded the No. 1 pick in the 1979 NBA Draft (where they got Magic, of course) after this team had the worst record in the league. Name the team.

Lol, everybody has got question 14 wrong C'mon guys, how is it possible that the Lakers would lose in the first round to the Sixers, a team that is in the Eastern Conference. Moses Malone got traded to Philly from ... C'mon, it's not that hard, is it?

For those who took time to answer: you guys know your stuff, something I wish I could say for the "average" Laker fan on the street (and probably here on the boards). Check out the answers here. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page3/story...erstest/results I think we should make every Laker fan take this test before they are allowed to post on the Laker forum. That would certainly cut down on the usual "Kobe is DA Man I can't tell you why but betta recognize" rhetoric. Just a thought .
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting DonJuan:</div><div class="quote_post">I think we should make every Laker fan take this test before they are allowed to post on the Laker forum. That would certainly cut down on the usual "Kobe is DA Man I can't tell you why but betta recognize" rhetoric. Just a thought .</div> I disagree. The test was just for fun, it really made some members sweat it out a bit, and with the test you displayed it forced us to use our common logic for our Lakers, but by you saying it cuts down on the usual Kobe usernames and what not, a lot of members wouldn't like that, and they'd feel disrespected. What I want out of my forum is dedicated, hardcore, posters that not only love the Lakers, but write quality posts as to give excellent analysis on each and every Laker game without writing a single sentence about a score or prediction. (I get that all the time it's annoying) As long as the veteran members and the new rookie members come in here and know what they're talking about in a quality over quantity post, then that's a true Laker fan. And they know their knowledge.
This test wasn't really even that hard, if you're a fan of the game. I'm not a Laker fan by any stretch of the imagination, but without looking anything up, I only got 4 wrong. #1 - I don't watch Laker games unless thier Playing the Celtics or someone's on the verge of bouncing them from the playoffs #13 The first half of #19 And #20 I think the best testiment to true Laker fans would have been to have everyone send you thier answers via PM. Then no one could have gotten answers via others and if they really wanted to do well and couldn't answer them from thier own knowledge, then they would have to do the research to find the answers. In the abscence of knowledge, I'll take sincere effort to search for answers every time. To me, that represents the same kind of effort that you can be proud of out of your fanbase. BTW: #12 was a great question that could have only been made better by asking who Magic replaced at Center and what the injury was that prompted the substitution.
