^It remains to be see what kind of plan they would have when facing the Pistons. Back to my original point: Do you agree that the Pistons would be more effective in guarding Shaq then the Nets? I'm not talking about how the Lakers will pick them apart.....I already know that.

Bne Wallace is going to have to front shaq & hope for weakside help for the most part. You cant let Ben Wallace play behind shaq because then Wallace athletism(the one thing he has in his favor) becomes a none factor because Shaq will be allowed to catch the ball two feet from the basket with great post position Back to my original point: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Do you agree that the Pistons would be more effective in guarding Shaq then the Nets?</div> of course the Piston will have a chance of being more effective because Ben Wallace is moble & will be able to get a few strips & deflections. Maybe Raheed get a weak side block or two but at the end of the day Shaq will be able to get 25-30 anytime he wants, so I ask the question does it really matter? You have to look past the center spot sometimes & see what else you can do to effect the Lakers. And I think the Nets running style has the best chance of doing damage.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting samoan-maverick:</div><div class="quote_post">Impossible... There is no way Derek Fisher, caught the ball, turned around and let go of the ball in 00.4 seconds. There is no way. They started the clock late, there is no freegin' way.</div> Acually as you have might have seen in other posts. The Lakers should of had 0.8 seconds left on the clock, but they somehow ended up with 0.4.

Don't you think?? I don't know what else they would do but if they did the same thing and the Lakers were destroying them doing the same thing they would make adjustments no? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Back to my original point: of course the Piston will have a chance of being more effective because Ben Wallace is moble & will be able to get a few strips & deflections. And yes it does matter because that is what my original arguement was about. I never brought up how the Lakers would negate how they would guard Shaq. I just said that they would not be killed as much as the Nets would guarding Shaq. That was my point in the first place. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">You have to look past the center spot sometimes & see what else you can do to effect the Lakers. If Lakers get past SA, they'll definitely make the Finals..Neither Sac nor Minny has the defense to compete...But I see Indiana winning it all...they've got it all...a dominant post presence, great role players, amazing depth and a stifling defense on top of that...so I say Indy will win it all...
Sacramento will stop the lakers, webber will regain his own form just in time, and bobby jackson will return off the bench with brad miller to shake things up. Bibby will just torch the lakers and then beat whoever is from the east. Mike Bibby takes home Finals MVP. Karl and Gary you made a mistake going to LA I still can't believe game 5, the Spurs aren't out yet, chances of winning though are quite slim. I think the spurs play better when LA is expected to win..Parker get back in the game and crossover Bryant and Oneal
I hope so. But the West level of competiton is fierce, so I wouldn't say that the Lakers will win the title. I just hope so, we won't know till that day comes.
Indiana won't win because contrary to popular opinion, they DON'T have a dominant post presence. Jermaine O'Neal has been a low-percentage shooter this year and as long as 80% of his post-game consists of a turn-around jumper and most of the rest of his offense comes off 19-footers, he's not going to dominate. I strongly respect his defense but in all seriousness, his offense is overrated.
Yeah, the Spurs are great and im not sure if Lakers could win although im pretty confident as how it looks now
I hate the lakers but they are unstoppable. As long as they realize that their fate rests on SHAQ and not payton/kobe/malone, no one will beat them. the only thing that can stop them now is kobes ego
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Henacy:</div><div class="quote_post"> You have to look past the center spot sometimes & see what else you can do to effect the Lakers. And I think the Nets running style has the best chance of doing damage.</div> I would think that too, except they said the exact same thing the last two years when the NEts were in the finals...The Nets were suppose to give the Spurs and Lakers trouble with their running game, and ended up going 0-8.... THe team in the East with the best chance IMO are the Pistons...Rasheed has always given the Lakers fits...However, the team that comes out of the West will once again win the title IMO...
The Juggernaut must FALL! Whoever wins the Sacto/MInny series needs to find a way to knock them off. Either that, or I'll be praying for what would be a major miracle, which would be for the East team to pull an upset in the finals.
Hey, we can sit here argue all day about what they need to do and what kind of strategy they gotta use or w/e, but really, at the end, when it comes down to it. All you gotta do is stop KOBE and SHAQ, period. There's no way either Kings or Wolves could beat them without stoppin them. Payton and Malone could stop themselves anyday though... but watch out for Fisher, after that shot, you don't know WHAT he might do. This has to be the toughest year for choosin which team to win the champtionships... Payton or Malone? Reggie or Kings? DILEMA!!!
The Lakers will win the championship, no explanation required. The only team that has a chance of hindering them from owning all their opponents are the Kings.

You can say that all u have to do is stop Kobe and Shaq but its very had to do. If it was just that simple teams would have figured it out by now. You double one it leave the other with one on one which most of the time is favored heavily to the Lakers. And yes your correct that the Kings nor the Wolves could beat them Lakers with stopping them but you can't stop them both. They might not score very many points in a game but its not because they didn't get any looks. The Lakers are going to win the Title becuase they are starting to play as a team. They are a very hard team to beat when their playin as one. As long as they do that the title is their's to take home.
