Is anyone other than me a little concerned that we will have 2 foreign born points with 1 year of english and 1 year of nba experience between them? Obviously we weren't playing Eisley anyway so we shouldn't keep him...
The Euro PG thread had lots positive to say about Vujanic. How about the Barbosa fans? Lets hear comments from them. Will point be our crucial weak spot next year or will the raging potential and raining outside shooting (3s and steals are the most exciting part of barbosa's game for me) of our Brazilian and our Serbian make up for inconsistency in leadership? Or will that even be a problem? Anyone know if Milos speaks English and if he'll be here for the Rocky Mountain Revue?
Anybody know of a cheap veteran we might be shooting after? Probably not.

Right now, Phoenix are most likely to get the 7th pick in the draft. Provided they do get it, they could draft Devin Harris or Ben Gordon if they are willing to get another PG. The current PG's will get better with more minutes and experience. Phoenix are in a state of rebuilding, so this situation wont impact as much as it could if they were a playoff team. I can see it being a problem, but not a huge one and one not worth making a trade to fix. Phoenix should just let the young guys develop, they are in the right situation to do it. If Phoenix aren't using Eisley, they should look to trade him, but he has a big contract and 3 years left on his deal so it wont be easy.

I dont see it as much of a problem Barbosa can play he stepped up since his mentor Stephon left. Barbosa will be fine in the year's he's a sun(hopefully until retirement). Leandro Barbosa and Marcus Banks were the sleepers this year and Barbosa was definitely the best pick of the two.

I'd say Josh Howard and Barbosa were the sleepers... hell marquis daniels started for the mavs in the playoffs and he didn't even get drafted... not that I'm a mavs fan (when in TX I saw them lose 10 straight games in 93/94)

I REALLY do like Ben Gordon but we REALLY don't need another point guard that isn't a veteran to lead

here's a Vujanic update from nba.com's commentary synopsis (forgot the guys name) of the euro finals (sorry lost the link)

Not only is Vujanic the best guard in Europe, but he's also the best player in Europe. I always said that the Knicks gave up a lot to get Marbury because they gave up the rights to this guy. He has the chance to become a great player in the NBA in 2-3 years. If he decides to go to Phoenix next year, he'll start for the Suns. He's a point guard with a scorer's mentality, and he loves to take the big shot. Watch him this weekend, he could be a future All-Star. ...

so... like in the draft thread...

    draft? Vujanic
    JJ Barbosa
    Marion Zarko Casey
    Amare Dice?
    Okur? Voskul Lampe

And while the Suns have a few point guard possibilities in Joe Johnson, Howard Eisley, Leandro Barbosa and Milos Vujanic, sources say they have their sites set on Nash and that he would like to come back to Phoenix, the team that drafted him out of Santa Clara University in 1996.

One of Delfino's teammates in Italy is PG Milos Vujanic, whose rights belong to the Suns. Vujanic, a source says, is not exactly happy with Fortitudo--inconsistent minutes and a lack of a set rotation are holding him back. But the Suns will be patient with Vujanic because their first priority is to figure out how to use their cap space this summer. Vujanic probably warrants an affordable deal in the $1.5 million range, but Phoenix will watch every dollar.

    and a SG

The numbers put up by Suns SG Joe Johnson after the trade of SG Penny Hardaway in January were extraordinary--Johnson averaged 19.2 points, 5.1 assists and 5.1 rebounds after January 1. He attacked the basket, played better defense and showed an improved midrange game.
Sounds like a good time to lock him up with a contract extension, right?
He's coming off of his third year and is extension-eligible, but don't expect a deal. The Suns don't want to give Johnson a big contract based on four months after he spent two years underachieving. And Johnson knows a continuation of his second half performance will send his market value sky-high when he becomes a free agent, so he won't want to lock himself into a long-term contract. . . .

Also in the Republic Gambo rumors the suns making a run at Ginobili...

sure it was only for 4 months but JJ is still only going to be 23 by the time the season starts. He should be locked up imedieatly.
