This is the thread for all offseason talk. You can talk about Utah's FA's, other FA's that Utah can sign or trade ideas. Here's a list of the 2004 Free Agents List

As for the Free Agents, I think Utah should go for Mehmet Okur and Stromile Swift. They will provide the size that Utah needs, and can both start.
Utah should let Ostertag, Guggliotta and Ruffin go, and resign Arroyo, Collins, Giricek and Moore if necessary.
As for trades, I wouldn't mind seeing Matt Harpring dealt. He's a good player, but he's taking minutes away from AK47 who is Utah's franchise player.

Your thoughts on the offseason for Utah?

We need to sign or draft a couple big men. Personally, I like Swift and Dampier, but what if we sign Rasheed Wallace or Kenyon Martin? I know they don't fit in to the system and they probably won't even consider us, but we need a banger and scorer.
Also, Quentin Richardson, we need a dependable scorer.
I know I'm dreaming but its a good dream.

Can we talk about draft picks in here?

    Draft thread

I doubt Utah can get Martin or Wallace, but they can afford them. Utah aren't good at landing the best FA's out there, but guys like Swift and Dampier are defintely signable. They need a PF for sure, and Utah first choice is a younger guy with promise, Swift is exactly that. The most amount of starts he's had in a season are 26, yet his career average in PPG are 8.8. I'm not sure if Utah want to add players by draft or free agency, if they get 3 draft picks they wont have much room for FA's and they may wait until next season.

I know, I was just dreaming.
But yeah, I thought about it and we should draft players to develop and sign a couple dependable players to come off the bench or start at PF or C.

Exactly. You can be sure Utah will be getting new young guys who haven't proved much yet but have a lot of potential. They're still rebuilding, but are preparing themselves for another run at the playoffs. They want younger guys to build a team around, and they are close to that point. Guys like Kirilenko and Arroyo will be staying for a while. They dont have the future PF and C yet, which is what they will be adressing. They may get another SG.
