They?ll tap-dance around the questions and offer gushers of respect to their upcoming opponents. advertisement But they?ve already won the NBA championship. True, there are the little matters of the Western Conference finals and NBA Finals, but those are trifles now, mere formalities, like inking a contract after terms have already been agreed to. </div> Do you guys agree? Do we have it locked. I think we do, we got past the toughest opponents. I like Minnesota in the series against the Kings, and I think we can take them in 6, possibly 5. But who knows, anything can happen. Parade Article
I feel like they got this in the bag too. But of course they can't think ahead and under estimate any of their opponents. But even ppl's that hate the Lakers know that the champions would be either the Spurs or the Lakers again. I mean the Kings have a chance at spoiling that, but I doubt they will. Unless Peja can get outta his funk to help the Kings beat the Wolves and continues that play against the Lakers, they could pull it off.
Never say it's over until it's over. I think they have the best chances of winning it all, but I would never say it's over. They still do have to play Minnesota or Sacramento, which still won't be easy.
Wolves and the Kings would be a problem. Dont underestimate them. Remember the last game against the Kings. If that happens again we're doomed.
We have a great chance, but we arent a lock to win it just yet. Anything can happen at this point. A injury or 2 could turn the series upside down, you never know. I love our chances, but we have to go out on the court and prove it first
It's funny how the L.A. Times use their arrogance and absolute biasesness towards the Lakers. We still have two rounds to go. Yes, we beat the San Antonio Spurs in convincing fashion by beating them in four straight games, but we still have two more quality opponents left that are competing for the number one goal like we are. The NBA championship. The L.A. Times and ourselves shouldn't underestimate our opponents. If we get to the NBA Finals, and we have a chance to close out a series, with the clock reading 0.00 then I'll make preparations for the Laker parade. Until then, we have to sit very close to our TV screens and watch Laker basketball for 48 minutes at a time.
Unreal they could actually post that article and keep a straight face. If championships were given to a team, then why even play the game? If Los Angeles was so good why didn't they finish #1 in the Western Conference? Oh wait, they didn't, the Timberwolves did. If the Lakers think they have won the championship already, they'll be gravely mistaken. If the Lakers don't win it, that's the end of the current Lakers as we know it.
parade <div class="quote_poster">Quoting los:</div><div class="quote_post">Amen!</div> You guys can prepare for the parade after the WCF, eastcoast aint doing nutting. Mark my words, next round is for the title wolves or kings. Nets who? Pacer's who?

Our players understand that there's still two rounds to go, and if we underestimate any of our opponents, then we won't win it all this year, plain and simple. Let me ask you a question. In 2002, we weren't the number one seed. That year it was the Sacramento Kings, and we still won the title didn't we?

In fact, the L.A. Times writers are often TOO critical of the Lakers IMO...
I don't want to say that we have it in the bag but beating SA was a major step towards gettin a title. All we have to do is stay sharp while we wait to see who wins tue Wolves and Kings series and play the way we played against the Spurs and we will be fine. If we get to the Finals which isn't a doubt in my mind I see us beating any of those teams in 5 games easy but we still need to perform at our best to win.
I think the Lakers have a good chance to win the NBA Championship but you never know,Kobe could break both his arms then it would be a whole different story. But I think most likely the Lakers will win unless something drastic happens.
If there's anything this season have taught Laker fans is that we are still one injury away from a disaster. Definitely shouldn't start planning the parade and definitely shouldn't take Kings or Wolves likely.
Yeah we all have agreed that you can't look over the next two teams, but can't you say every team is one injury away from a disaster? I mean the Lakers do lose a lot whenever a player goes out injured, but that can be said about any other team too. If the Wolves lose Garnett or Cassell they'd be in a disaster, and same with Sacramento with Bibby or Paja. That can be said for any team..

If the players would thik that theres only a littlte chance they could win, Kings and twolves are enormously hard to beat although we could crush the spurs. Luck is the second important factor of winning, so "never say its over until it's over."
I think they're going to clinch it, but that's being too cocky. Certainly they're good, definitely one of the best but counting out others would be a bad image of themselves on both their part and the rest of the league. It's rather insulting on both ends, what happens if they fail? What happens if they humiliate a team equally deserving or of worthy recognition? Meaning good sports like say Indiana, Minnesota, sadly I refuse to say that for Sac-Town, they're whiners. For as the saying goes "Don't count your chickens before they're hatched." I just hope Kobe, Malone and GP net themselves some rings.
