One would think the Heat would be the number one story in South Florida right now, you would think it's all over the local news all the time, all the local radio talk shows would be talking about the Heat, etc. etc.... wrong. Ever since news that Ricky Williams tested positive on a drug test for marijuana, that's been the big story and nobody has been talking about the Heat. It's amazing how one man, in the offseason, can just take over the news. I'm sure Ricky doesn't like all this negative exposure, I wish all the damn local news people would just leave him alone and focus on the real story right now which is the Miami Heat. And the Miami Heat gets screwed out of well deserved media coverage yet again.
What can you do, this is a football town... even the Canes get more ink. At least the arena is getting packed and the team is making money, hopefully they'll spend in bringing in the right pieces and locking Butler and Wade. Another thing I love is the seesaw that Cote and LeBatard ride... one day is the Heat will destroy indiana, the next is all negative. The talk shows are horrible too, the only one that gives the Heat decent coverage is that Sedano guy on Fox, and even that is because he has to talk basketball certain days, but then you hear him battling callers who only want to talk about how bad the Dolphins offensive line is or that Wansted sucks.
This is football town...always was and always will. Dolphins or Canes. Being a fan of both (especially the Canes - I'm a current student there!) I don't mind it that much. But when you have something like the Heat doing what they're doing...its true...it can get a little annoying with all the football talk...and we're still months away! By the way...I agree with Cubanballer...Sedano is the only guy worth listening to. That new show Stugotz and Toast aren't that bad. Mandich sucks (boring).
First of all, Miami Heat is a great team. They've already proven the impossible, but they have to beat Indiana and prove the impossibler. As for Ricky Williams getting all the exposure for getting tested positive for marijuana, that ain't no big story. Everybody does a little weed every once in a while.
