Adidas Signs Prospect Smith <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Less than two weeks after signing New York City high school standout Sebastian Telfair, adidas has inked an endorsement deal with another high profile high school player, Josh Smith. Adidas signed Smith to a six-year deal that guarantees him about $12 million, but could eventually be worth upwards of $20 million, sources told ESPN.com. Telfair signed an incentive-laden, six-year contract with the same shoe company that could equal Smith's guaranteed money. </div> Adidas Sign Smith P.S. I did not know where to post this, I thought this forum was best appropriate because he is entering the draft.
Nice, building up the Adidas team. Kid got game, he's gonna be good. Adidas trying to compete with Nike.
My friend goes to Oak Hill and he told me last week Josh would sign with Adidias but I couldnt share this information because i was suspended

I think is already better than Nike..at least for me..(LeBron who??) Just waiting for them to sign Okafor..I think it will be after a few games because a lot of people say he will start as Center but won't be any good.. ..Impossible is Nothing.
Are you kidding? Nike/Jordan Team is much better. Your just saying that because Tracy McGrady is on Adidas
Does anyone have Howard yet? It said livingston was the next big one left unsigned, so where is Howard?
Josh Smith deserved this one ladies and gents. Smith has outperformed any other high schooler in this year's draft(arguably). Livingston, Howard, Telfair, and Smith are insane players and if they were on team adidas it would be a hell of a team.
I'd say Howard and JR Smith have out performed Josh Smith in the all star games, but you're right that Smith has played extremenly well. I've got a question for you guys, I've never bought a pair of shoes based on who the shoe company had signed to a contract. What affect does it have on any of your lives? And does it matter to you that they shoes you buy are $50 to $75 more expensive because that shoe company is paying these guys so much money?

I'm also a cheap clothes connisuer and I don't care who endorses what...if it's way overpriced then I'm not going to buy it. More power to people that can buy $100 shoes and benefit from them in some way, but buying expensive shoes just for the name on them is not smart to me.
Only reason i but expensive shoes are because they always last me no matter what and they look nicer and perform better than Zellers or Walmart shoes. I dont care what price they are as long as they last me and there comfy and good shoes for playing ball. I would go with adidas just because they sponsor the all canadian game and they have some ill kicks.
Isn't kobe with nike? Adiddas has a better team they have the last two mvp's and the scoring leader in the league, I think they have a better team. But I would prefer to be with Jumpman If I would be in that situation.
Adidas may have more stars, but Nike has more players signed. They may not get the publics attention all the times, via commercials, ads, and whatnot, but they do have more.
Hey Nike is the best. There are more people wearing Jordan brand than Adidas. like what og15 said, be a part of the team jordan is a great honor. Plus Adidas are foreginer companies(europeans), why not support the brand from your country.
this is the nike team PG LeBron James/Jason Kidd SG Kobe Bryant/ Paul Piece/ Ray Allen SF Vince Carter/ Carmelo Anthony PF Dirk Nowizki/ Amare Stoudimare C Jermaine Oneal/Rasheed Wallace not a bad team, but the most important one is that they can sell shoes. WHO will want buy Tim Duncan shoes, wow, fundermental shoes, boring. The LeBron James shoes AZG are very popurlar, if Kobe is innocent then his shoes will sell even better. Many ballers will want to buy VC's because VC can dunk. Air Force one sheed is VERY nice and popular. i can go on and on, but Nike is better.
Nike has a better history with basketball shoes, as they were the brand that signed Michael Jordan. Younger athletes are drawn to this, because of the popularity of the Jordan signature collection, and wish to have one like it. adidas has a better history with shoes overall as they have been in the game longer, and are much more appreciated throughout the world in sports combined than Nike is.
