I keep hearing Byron Scott's name thrown around as a possible replacement, should Phil Jackson decide he's had enough.

I think it would be pretty cool to see him back with the Lakers, and he did a pretty good job in NJ.

    What do you guys think?

If Phil Jackson calls it quits, there is no other better person than Byron Scott to choose as their coach. He did an incredible job at New Jersey (Too bad no championships) and he got backstabbed by the Nets. It would be a good opportunity for him to go to the finals with the Lakers and win a championship. What would make that better is if they challenge the Nets in the finals. Byron Scott can be reunited with the Lakers again which would be good also.

Hmm, surprisingly the thought of him being their headcoach never crossed my mind. It sound like a great idea to me. He did do a good job with NJ those 2 years.

Hopefully the players would respond to him positively from the jump.

Although it would be a weird feeling after having played finals against him, but i do think also it would be the best choice if phil left(what i really hope WONT happen). He's capable of forming a great team which he showed in nj.

I think Byron Scott would be perfect in Los Angeles. He loves the city dearly, he was a part of the Showtime Era, he has an excellent track record of leading the Nets to two NBA Finals, and he looks like the man that would bring enough disclipline to make the players listen to him. I wouldn't have any problems if he would replace Phil Jackson. It'll be a great step.

I think Byron would be a good replacement. But, hopefully people don't put absolutely huge expectations on him just cause he would be following possibly the greatest coach ever. That would be the only problem there. But, I do believe he would be a suffice replacement to Phil. He's a great coach and did a great job in New Jersey.
