YO guys this is my first post in this great site. I think that Wake Forest will win it or go far as hell in the tourney next year. As you can tell i love Wake. Chris Paul played sensational in his freshamn year deserving the the freshman award he got it. In his sophmoer year i cant wait to see wat he does if he plays better then he did in his freshman year he'll be getting POY. Justin Gray going into his junior season will problly play just as well and hopefully his shot got a little better. Eric Williams will dominate the paint if he can learn not to get silly fouls. Other then Wake to win it UNC will.
Georgia Tech. I don't even like them, but they proved me wrong this year and I see no reason why they can't do it again. North Carolina will be very good, but I question if Felton and May will improve enough for them to dominate. Kansas will be really, really good as well. Of course, there's Washington, they could bust out...
I have to go with UNC, not because there my favorite, but because they will be great. They have all there returning players coming back, Raymond Felton the leading assist man in the ACC, Sean May the leading rebounder in the ACC, Rashad McCants the leading scorer in the ACC, and Jawad Williams, another future NBA player. We then bring in some good recruits like Marvin Williams an All-American and a top 100 player Quentin Thomas. We then bring back Melvin Scott, who started many games last season. Off the bench, we still have David Noel, Jackie Manual and hopefully an imrproved, 2003 Top 50 Recruit, Reyshawn Terry, who showed some promise. There is also talk about David Padgett, Kansas's starting center last year, coming to UNC. He is about to transfer from KU, and UNC was supposedly his #2 school. I could keep going, but I will stop.
Georgia Tech or North Carolina for me. I just feel their own players and new roster will have improved from last year and that they'll be somewhat dominant now. I think they'll be battling it out in the NCAA Final Four in 2005.
I think Georgia Tech had a good season, but I don't see them doing it again. Last season, they overachieved. I also think North Carolina underachieved because of bad defense. They could have easily won 3 more ACC games with some defense. If next season, UNC can play defense, they can easily win the ACC.
C - Aaron Pettway / Julius Lamptey / Frans Steyn PF - Ivan McFarlin / Terrance Crawford / David Monds SF - Joey Graham / Stevie Graham / Marcus Dove SG - JamesOn Curry / Daniel Bobik PG - John Lucas III / Jamaal Brown = oklahoma state doing quite well in 04-05
I think it's still too early to tell. I think one of the favorites has got to be Wake Forest. Bring the same exact roster back and look at how good they did this year. With an improved and matured PG, Chris Paul leading them, they will do big things I think. I think Dukes chances are gone. First, Duhon leaves and they will miss his leadership. Deng then declares which is a move I do not agree with. Then they lose a top recruit. Shaun Livginston, the top ranked HS PG. I'm rooting for my boys in the C-USA, though, Louisville, Memphis, and Cincinnati. Don't know if they will win a championship, but hey, it could happen. Expect a BIG year from Sean Banks from the C-USA.

Quote:

Expect a BIG year from Sean Banks from the C-USA
He had a big year last year. I have been telling people about Banks since he was in HS. I saw him play a couple times in HS, and he seemed to be overlooked because of legal trouble, but he was still a top 20 player. He went to school 5 minutes from me, so I was a big fan.

I haven't seen them in many preseason predictions, but they're going to be scary. They return three of last year's best Freshmen (Harris, Sims, Pettway) and they also return what could be the best backcourt in the NCAA (Lester Abrahm and Daniel Horton). Look out for more analysis in my rankings (which I'm two teams away from finishing, so they'll be back up in the next few days).

I'm looking for Maryland to do really well. They made their mark this year by winning the ACC Championship after a disappointing regular season. Their late season success was due to the freshman becoming sophomores, and their sophomores becoming juniors. They were very young and it showed during the year. They have great talent in last year's sophomores -- Gilchrist, Caner-Medley, McCray and Garrison -- and possibly even better in last year's freshman -- Jones, Strawberry, Ibekwe, and Fofana. I'm looking for them to be really high in the ACC, easily the best conference(IMO) in the nation next year.

Hopefully UNC but the best thing about the NCAA's is that you can really never predict the finals or the winner which is great.
So who will win it next year? I think that Connecticut will win it because Boone will fill in for Okafor, and Rudy Gay for Ben Gordan, and they have that transfer I forgot his name a 7-foot white guy, I say repeat.
They're definitely in the running. But there are a few other teams, of course Duke, my team UNC with best starting five goint on two years strong, Texas with there talented incomers, Kansas,Wake Forest with Chris Paul emerging, Pitt, and Syracuse.
***Threads Merged*** These threads are all premature. It'll be more than ten months until the next championship game. Besides, it all depends on who you draw in the tournament. If you picked on just talent alone, then I'm sticking to my guns with Michigan though.
I think it's too early to tell, u don't kno who is getting better and who is coming back strong...u just have to wait till the preseason cuz i guarantee it won't be anybody from the ACC
I personally think it's too early to tell who could do it. But, if we go based on talent alone, Michigan has got to be up there. For the reasons pretty much stated by Voodoo Child. They have great freshman returning and might have the best backcourt in the country next year. UConn should also be up there. They have Rashad Anderson, Josh Boone, and Charlie Villanueva there. All three of them should be major contributors this season, especially Villanueva and Boone. I expect each of them to step up, especially on the defensive end, now that Okafor has gone draft. Rashad Anderson was also overlooked a lot at times, but he killed a lot of teams in the NCAA Tourney this past year with his ability to knock down threes. So, I think they could be a contender once again next year. Also, UNC. They have a ton of talent in May, Felton, and McCants. That could be a very good trio of players. And, of course Duke will likely be there, as they always are. Coach K always does a good job and always has team in the championship hunt.

There a Sweet sixteen team at least, and with Chris Thomas, they could really make a run.
