Yesterday on Aroun The Horn, Jay Mariotti said that Dwyane Wade is a better PG than Steve Nash... obviously Jay hasn't been watching the Heat all year, but do you agree with what he said?
lol no he's not, right now Wade is a very good scoring, rebounding, and play making <u>guard</u>, notice how I didn't say Point guard. Nash is levels above Wade as a Point guard, as just a player Wade has more talent than Nash, but as a PG not even close. Just another person jumping on the bandwagon of his amazing play.
NOT EVEN CLOSE! Nash has the long 3 in his sleeve, and amazing passes, to go with his uncredible speed and courtvision, plus alot of experience. Wade is good but not on that level...yet.
Nash is amazing at basically everything, he's probably the best or most versatile on the Mavericks. He makes it happen. He actually plays well on the team on both ends, of which it lacks on defense. Not to mention how good he actually is at what he does. This being his passing, his effort, his will and heart to win, his offensive abilities but an important factor as well, how well he's maintained himself regardless of being a veteran, he's still pretty fast. I love Wade, but he's got a long way to go to reach this level, plus he plays more like an SG or SF.
Hmm...It's possible. But Steve Nash is a great player and quite possibly one of the most underrated players IMO. I personally, think Steve Nash could do so much more. But with Walker, Jamison, Dirk etc… running the show it’s hard for him to do certain things. But a player like Dwayne Wade has proven that he can be up there with some of the best PG's. And is arguable whether or not he's better than Steve Nash. But from a PG stand, Nash is better than Wade by a mile. Although, Dwayne Wade is just a rookie he sure doesn’t play like it. But he has a lot more growing to do. So I wouldn’t say he’s “better” than Steve Nash. Steve Nash is a PG while Dwayne Wade is a SG that’s forced to play the 2. Even though he does a good job playing the 1, I would pick Steve Nash over him for the moment.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting "Magic Johnson":</div><div class="quote_post">Nash is amazing at basically everything, he's probably the best or most versatile on the Mavericks.</div> Acually no he's not, his defense isn't good, and he's nothing on the boards, he also has pretty slow hands and doesn't have to anticipation to pick passing lanes therefore doesn't get steals. The most versatile players on the Mavs are Marquis Daniels, Josh Howard and Antoine Walker. Howard has pretty good handles, he can play the 1,2,3, not each as effective as the other but he's capable, amazing rebounder, very good defender, shooting touch needs work, can pass and can do it all. Marquis Daniels, pretty good defender, very atheletic, inside the arc his shot is crazy, can play the 1,2 and 3, can pass, score, rebound. Antoine Walker, everything except for defense, and he does stupid things. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting "Avery":</div><div class="quote_post">Steve Nash is a PG while Dwayne Wade is a SG that?s <u>forced to play the 2</u></div> Forced to play the 1

He's good at boarding when he wants to be, I think he's rather lazy though, his 3's leave something to be desired too. Not to mention I've seen him airball two freethrows. Forced to play the 1 [/QUOTElker is?
Well Walker just because he can score, rebound and pass, but his defense is pretty gaebage, and his shot selection and decision making suck.
I think he is close, if not better. He performs in the clutch, he isnt afraid to shoot the ball, but doesnt take bad shots, you cant say the same about Nash. Wade is also very young..I would rather build a team around Wade than Nash
Nash is more of a team player who can dish and score. From what I've seen from Wade so far, his playmaking skills are lacking. He needs to have more of an eye for open teammates and the ability to slash and dish. If he can perfect that aspect of his game, he could very well be the best PG in the league.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">i dont care what all u say Dwyane Wade is the best PG.</div> Don't you think your being a little to bias? Best PG? Thats a little too much. And you need to decrease the size of your sig, its violating the JBB guidelines.

Wade takes more bad shots than Nash, and Nash has a career average of 46.5% from the field, and he's not a penetrating and dunking guard but a shooter, that's impressive. As a PG (keyword), Nash is levels ahead of Wade, in terms of talent and skill, Wade outperforms Nash. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">i dont care what all u say Dwyane Wade is the best PG.</div> Wade is one of my favourite players, I even try to pattern my game like his, but saying that just because you like him is not good, don't let personal likes of players be the deciding factor in your ratinale, I hate when people like a player and fail to ever criticize or look at situations with blurry eyes.
i dont say dwyane wade is the best PG just because i personaly like him. PG is not da position he played befor he came into da NBA, But he still did a great job at being a PG . And let me change that "Best PG" into "one of the best PG" (and i will make my sig smaller as soon as i can)
Let's get it straight now, Dwayne Wade is not a true point guard. I'm not discounting this kids talent but to be averaging more turnovers than assists has to be somewhat telling of how well he distributes the ball. Wade is not a true point guard and he is forced to play that position. Hopefully next year he can move to the 2 where he can do some real damage but do not tell me that he is a better PG than Nash.
When did he average more turnovers than assists, during the season it was 4.5 assists to 3.21 turnovers, and in the playoffs it was 5.6 assists to 4.15 turnovers. Against Indiana, 5.7 assists to 4.5 turnovers. Also like I said before, Wade gets a lot of his turnovers from getting stripped while driving, or offensive fouls, he only averaged 1.32 bad pass turnovers a game during the season. Nash averaged 1.87 bad pass turnovers per game during the season, but that was to 8.8 assists, and Wade's was to 4.5, but its not as bad as it looks. I've already settle that Nash is a better pG about 3 times, but just clearing that up, his assist to bad pass ratio was 3.4, and Nash's was 4.7. Jason Kidd's assist to bad pass ratio was only 3.8, 0.4 better than Wade's, so he didn't do that bad, most people don't think of the fact that not every turnover is a bad pass.
I think Dwyane WILL lol be a lot better than Nash eventually, and it's not as far away as we might think.
