What would it have been like if the lakers would have not made that shoot in game 5. The Spurs did blow game 6 but there would still be one more chance for the spurs to win.

Game 7 would have been Tuesday and the spurs WIN!
Kobe scores 30,O'neal 14 but they still lose
Shaq adds comments about Kobe's on court decision
and relates them to real court situation.

They both get into a big fight and beatup all the Lakers in the process
Meanwhile the Spurs win the title and Tim Duncan is the Finals MVP!

OK i know i got a little carried away but
    I CAN STILL DREAM RIGHT?

(what do you think would have happend)

Does it even matter what could have happened if the Lakers lost?

I do wish the Spurs had won, though. Oh well.

They would've went to a game 7 and still beat the Spurs. I did orginally pick this to go to 7 games, especially after the 2-0 lead the Spurs had on the Lakers. + I said that I can't and some other members can't see the Lakers losing in a 7 game series. Even though they would've had to play in San Antonio.

Didn't you pick the Spurs to win the semi-WCF series, and the Wolves to win the WCF? [IMG]

IMO even if the spurs beat the lakers they would have lost to the pistons. Just because the pistons are far more superior than any team in the nba.

    Yeah Right

The Lakers almost lost the series to SA
and, I dont like the Lakers but the only reason the Pistons
won was because the 2-3-2 format of home games.
If you play that same format in the SA game it would be
SA champs they are a way better team then any body in the NBA

because the NBA did'nt want to see the Spurs in the Finals
they want to make money by ratings and they know that LA is going to
attract more money because people want to see what the out come is.
If the Spurs had the same drama in their locker room then maybe the Spurs would have been play'n the Piston's instead of LA.

    Thats why!

Spurs do win if they beat the Laker it is that simple, but it didn't happen. The spurs should have done what the pistons did to the lakers which is run them old guys to death. Ginobili Brown Parker thats the key to beating lakers but pop didn't invest in it.

If the Spurs and Pistons played in the Finals, it would have been a mirror image of themselves. Did you watch the games they play on March 25? Spurs 84 and pistons 75. One thing wrong with your comment is that you forgot that the spurs play defense, unlike the Lakers. If we (Spurs) were let to play like the Lakers did in games 3 and 4 by holding, pushing, and fouling when ever we wanted then we would have won 4-0 too. The Spurs matched up better than the Lakers did against the Pistons. Did you read Larry Brown's quotes? He said that he used the Spurs' game plan to beat the Lakers and that he had contacted Pop before every game they played the Lakers. He also said he didn't know why Pop didn't challenge game 5 against the Lakers. This is his quote, "How can anyone run and catch the ball, turn around, and then shoot in .04 seconds?"

No the LAKERS went to the finials
just for the hype. The 0.4 shot shoudn't have counted
the spurs maybe would have lost game 6 but still would have come
    back to SA.
the Spurs would have taken the Pistons out
    with out a struggle
The pistons are good but nothing that even comes close
    to the Spurs.
Just because the Spurs lost to the Lakers doesnt mean they
    cant beat the Pistons.

Yeh, Spursfreak, I think you are right, that would have happened, and
    should have happened.

The NBA Title would move from Dallas to San Antonio, since we would have
beaten ya'll last year if Dirk hadn't gotten hurt.

Enbrace your dreams, cherish them, make them your reality, and some day when
you are old and senile, you won't know the difference.

Honestly the Spurs would not of beaten the Pistons, the Lakers defence was very average but the Spurs jump shooters couldn't hit ANYTHING. Guys like Hedo, Horry, Bowen were left open but never cashed in.

It would of been even worse against the Pistons defense.

Bottom line is the Pistons were the best team this year.

Also using regular season to decide who would win a series is rather pointless. People need to forget about what the Spurs did in the Lakers series and focus on next year.

right they need to forget what happend
last year and focus on this year

the Spurs tied the Pistons for the best defence in the NBA
so what would have happend if the two best teams in the
NBA play in the finals. The spurs are a better orginized team
than the Pistons the only thing the Spurs did wrong was miss
open shoots but what the Piston were doing was getting
open layups because the Lakers do not play D.

The spurs are way better on both sides of the court
the Pistons won because of winning game 1 and getting
the 2-3-2 format which basically gave them home court.
