After the Kings once again lose a decisive game in the playoffs, do u think it is time for them to start over? What I mean by "starting over" is dismantling this team by trading away some of its core players, in hopes of finding the right puzzle pieces. I think it's time the Kings regroup and restart. Webber, Christie, and perhaps even Bobby Jackson should be dealt for new pieces...
there is some room for making moves with the kings, but jackson and christie i dont think will be among those ideas. and overall, i think that the look of the kings next year will be much the same as it was this year. after two back to back seasons plagued with injuries, i think they are gonna roll the dice on this group one more year & see what they come up with. as much as i would hate to see it happen, i can see webber going somewhere else and vlade playing from the bench next year, if at all. but the rest of core players i dont see any movement involving them. cant see adleman going anywhere next year either. wether you like him or not, he has done some great work with managing a banged up team two years in a row.
No, the Kings should definetely keep its core players. Peja, Bibby, Webber, Bobby are very essential to the team. You take one player out, it's a whole different ball team. I wouldn't give up on this team just yet.

We are a good team and IMO our core is built to alst for a couple more seasons unlike the wolves and lakers are right now. The key is brebuilding our bench to have good backups and increase our depth.
I think they should rebuild this team because if they keep having t his same team they are not getting any better.Every year Sacaramento has a good regular season but come playoff time they look like a whole diferent team.I think they should get rid of some of the older players thye have for some new talent.Maybe like Kenyon Martain, D Miles, someone who is going to have a bright future.

That would be horrible, I think something major that should be down is that you need a better bench cast. Get yourself some more sparkplugs or bench roleplayers. I don't really have anyone in mind, Bibby and Christie proved themselves, but I fear they're not top tier amongst the others and would need you to net people superior to them. Same goes for Webber. Seems only Miller would have to stay, Vlade might expire soon.

The kings could essentially "wait their turn." I bring up this topic because they have continually lost with this core group...often you have to take a step backwards before u can go foward...
I don't see how the Sacramento Queens are going to move that massive contract by Webber. I'm sure any team realizes this man is not at 100% with plates in his legs, and possibly won't be the same again. No team will take that kind of a risk. Vlade Divac has to go. 36 years old, did all he could to help the Queens with his leadership capabilities, but his offensive game is finished. Doug Christie could leave as well. It's time for the Queens to go out and get big name players who are willing to step their games to different heights in the playoffs, including critical Game 7's. Because from the performances I saw especially from Peja, Webber, and Bibby, this team doesn't have it. Time for the hated Maloofs to turn the tide a bit.
webber's stock right now is LOOOOOOOW. everyone saw what's happend to him. he isnt the same player he used to be...not even close anymore. missing that point blank lay up (which would have been a dunk any other year) at the crucial moments of game 7 vs. the wolves was a perfect example. with his outrageous contract, and limited game now...your not going to get much for him. hes gonna need to be packaged up with someone like bibby or brad miller in order to get a decent return.

He has shown this season that he can no longer elevate on his jumpshot, he can't dunk the basketball viciously the way he used to years past, and he now relies more on his 18 footer without taking the rock penetrating to the basket. Looks like the Queens will be stuck with that 116 million dollar contract, because with the other teams in this league, I'm sure nobody is willing to pursue an injury prone player. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting harbingerofdoom:</div><div class="quote_post">as far as vlade goes... he has said he wants to stay in sacramento if it can be worked out. i fully expect to see him in sac next year, but prolly coming off the bench with miller starting at center.</div> What more can Vlade Divac do? The most he can do is provide leadership from the bench and be a cheerleader because this guy's offensive numbers have sunk tremendously. All he does on the defensive end is his Hollywood acts by confusing the refs into his flops, whining and complaining about fouls. The man's 36 years old, and they don't need his assistance any longer. Time for a change. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting harbingerofdoom:</div><div class="quote_post">and why would you say the maloofs are hated... they certainly arnt hated in sacramento....they took a .500 team & turned it around to a winning club.</div> From a Laker fan's standpoint, the Maloofs are hated in Los Angeles, and Laker fans like myself, would love nothing more than to see them fail year after year. Good luck SacTown. Enjoy your five month vacation.
All..You have to do is..Keep the team you have..But trade peja and someone for more talent..I routed for the kings ALLL play-offs..One thing that struck me right off is..Peja is an "Eite Play-offf CHOKER"..He is so "UN-CLUTCH"..Its not even funny
the leadership is exactly why you would keep vlade & start him from the bench. he still has a lot of basketball in him and provides a lot of intangibles that he can teach to miller or another center if they want to look for one.. but with having milller & vlade i dont see a need to look for one... start miller who is a MUCH better player when he starts and play vlade from the bench. the only real weak spot i can see is the power forward position and thats if webber cant get back to his former self (a distinct possibility) and as far as peja goes... trading him would be a major mistake. keep in mind he just needs to step up in the post season but in the regular season he was one of the best shooters in the league... you dont trade that away unless you can get something as good or better... oddly i think that they would have had better success in the post season this year had they not started webber.. but hindsight is 20/20.
Damn yo... Webber choked at a cruicial moment, he <strike>fuked</strike> up, plain and simple. I don't know if he should be traded solely based on that but it don't matter, he hasnt been playin the same ever since he got back anyways, all he did was break the chemistry... I could NOT believe he missed that open lay up... he don't even have the legs strong nuff to dunk it anymore? <font color="Red"> Cursing is not permitted. Read the guidelines.--Rudeezy</font>
There is no reason for the Kings to dismantle. They have proven that they are an ellite team but just haven't got over that hump. It would be foolish to let this core go.
Keys to Kings Championship next season: - Get deeper bench. Find fole players who can help fight back when down, or build leads when put in. That way, the nagging injuries suffered every season wont be so crippling. - CORE: Webber, Miller, Bibby, Jackson, Peja, Christie 1-2 of these players must be traded and in all estimation, Jackson and Christie can be used to get the most. Peja is also a legitimate choice simply because he has choked during the playoffs each of the last three years. Look to get an young/defense-orientated/scoring shooting guard and a decent power forward/center combo player. -Free agent market. Shop early and often. There's no way Kobe will end up in Sac-Town, but look at other possible free agents to strengthen the bench and possible sign-and-trade deals like was used to get Brad Miller. Possible pickups: Rafer Alston Rodney Rogers Anfernee Hardaway Stephen Jackson Bob Sura Rasheed Wallace Toni Kukoc Brevin Knight Morris Peterson Chris Andersen Jon Barry Marcus Camby Troy Hudson Emanuel Ginobili Erick Dampier Quentin Richardson Derek Fisher Antonio McDyess Darius Miles Brent Barry

I'm pretty sure there's gonna be a few tweaks that will be made, but what team doesn't do that...I'd think that most of the squad will stay, cause most of the players played good this year, and there the reason why the Kings are were sucessful this year
Definitely need tweeks, but they will be major changes to the core of the team. A decision on Christie, Jackson and Peja must be done. Peja has come up short the entire playoffs, one miraculous performance cant erase an entirely pathetic series. Peja may be the best shooter in the game, but u gotta have a back up plan if you gotta guy blanketing you for an entire series, you have to be able to adapt and changer your game. The Kings have so many shooters, what about a Peja for Rashard Lewis deal? This would give the Kings a young athletic small forward who would take pressure of the Kings frontline, and allow more athleticism on the team, something which was drastically exploited against the Wolves. Now as far as Jackson and Christie go, if you can package Christie and picks for a defense orientated bench player or young guard, Jackson and be inserted into starting line and will allow a faster paced, more athletic lineup for next season.
