Looking at the Real de Madrid soccer team or the LA Lakers fab four inability to play at their best possible level (considering the talent on the paper), I was wandering what you think would be the ultimate dream team in the NBA. I am not talking about the best players but about the best basketball team possible, one that would indeed crush its opponents like the Lakers have not been able to do. Here's my dream team, i think those players are the most compatible together and will benefit the most from each other's game: PG-Baron Davis/Stephon Marbury SG-Ray Allen/Michael Finley SF-Ron Artest/Carmelo Anthony PF-Kevin Garnett/Jamal Magloire C-Shaq/Erick Dampier
PG- Jason Kidd/Steve Nash SG- Kobe Bryant/T-Mac SF- Shawn Marion/Ron Artest PF- Kevin Garnett/Tim Duncan C- Shaq/Yao Ming
PG- Jason Kidd / Stephon Marbury SG- Kobe Bryant / Tracy McGrady SF- Ron Artest / Paul Pierce PF- Kevin Garnett / Tim Duncan C- Shaquille O'Neal / Yao Ming
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting STCBBall3:</div><div class="quote_post">PG- Jason Kidd / Stephon Marbury SG- Kobe Bryant / Tracy McGrady SF- Ron Artest / Paul Pierce PF- Kevin Garnett / Tim Duncan C- Shaquille O'Neal / Yao Ming</div> I always considered Paul Pierce to be a shooting guard rather than Small foward. But he is a good choice. I wanted to put him on my list but there was not enough space at shooting guard over Kobe and T-Mac.
Okay I'm going to do this as if it was an actual team so to avoid the ego clashes. PG - Jason Kidd SG - Paul Pierce/Ray Allen SF - Shawn Marion PF - Kevin Garnett C - Tim Duncan, yea he can play center Other Team: PG - Baron Davis SG - Michael Redd SF - Andrei Kirilenko PF - Elton Brand C - Shaquille O'neal I'm not too sure about the KG and Timmy working, but if not then KG and Dampier.
I think T-mac (my all-time favourite player) and Kobe Bryant are probably the best curently at their position but I didn't include them because they need the ball too much to play at their best level which wouldn't do on a such a rotation. I like Yao as well but with I don't like his presence on the boards, at least not yet.
Yea that's why I didn't put Tmac or Kobe either, they need the ball too much I think it works better with guys like Ray Allen, Michael Redd, Vince, who are less selfish.
^I was thinking of T-Mac in the role of a 6th man. Someone that just comes in and starts scoring right when he touches the ball. But I also do feel that T-Mac is unselfish, it's just that he has no one to pass the ball to in Orlando.
PG- Jason Kidd / Baron Davis SG- Kobe Bryant / Tracy McGrady SF- Kevin Garnett / Peja Stojakovic PF- Tim Duncan / Elton Brand C- Shaquille O'Neal / Jermaine O'Neal
I like your "Other" Team: PG - Baron Davis SG - Michael Redd SF - Andrei Kirilenko PF - Elton Brand C - Shaquille O'neal I would just switch Kirilenko for Marion. No offense to Kirilenko, I have to aclnowledge he's a very good player but I mean , an actual all-star selection in the West is big time. I think the choice was motivated by the NBA's marketing strategy in Russia, just like when when Yao Ming was about to enter the league even though he is quite good now.
Yea I think that other team would work great, and yea Marion would be better there, I think thats a good team you can get. Baron and Shaq will take the shots, Michael Redd is the shooter and other scorer, and Marion and Brand don't demand shots but they'll work and the team will be a rebounding juggernaut. Baron Davis also doesn't need shots he just took a lot because of the lack of scorers in NOH, so Shaq and Redd could even be the offensive focus with Baron being a distibutor and about a 15 ppg scorer. So you'd have Shaq scoring 25, Redd let's say 18, Brand 17, Marion 17 and Baron 15, the bench doesn't even need to play.
Had never thought of T-mac as a 6th. man but I have to say that I do like the idea... don't think he would be ok with that though
Who do you think are the most "dominant" ( eg. Shaq) players all-time at their positions? <font color="Blue">If I were you, I would start a new thread on this. That way this thread will stay on topic and the new thread can be dedicated strictly to talking about the all-time greats.- Hunter</font>
