Funny...I am not saying Higgins isn't any good, but it's hard to tell what caliber you are when you have these types of achievements. But this is so strange. I read on ESPN.com that Saint Jean wanted Musselman to stay, but i also heard that Saint Jean's last job was to fire Musselman. And now one day after they fire Muss, Saint gets the boot, like i guess was supposed to happen. Does anybody know what Saint's and Muss's relationship was like? I am hoping these moves turn out well. They remind me so much of that NVE/Jamsion trade last year. I am starting to think a lot more in that Mullin as the man behind that move.

I strongly believe that Saint, knowing he was about to be demoted/fired, offered to be the scape goat if the Warriors would keep Musselman. But the Warriors wanted get rid of as much of the St. Jean era as they could, so no matter how much of a scape goat the Warriors made Saint out to be, it wouldn't have been enough for Musselman to keep his job. I emailed Chad Ford about it when he wrote a big piece on the Warriors about a month ago, and he hinted at as much in his reply. As for the issue about Saint firing Musselman, that's where the conflict is. Some reports were that the organization wanted Saint to fire Musselman so that Mullin wouldn't have the black mark of firing a coach who many people thought was a great coach, but Saint refused. Other reports were that Saint offered to do it, but the organization said no thank you. But either way, who fired Musselman was just a PR issue, it didn't mean Saint didn't like Musselman, he did.
I wonder what Higgin's duty is since Mullin is the real GM. Maybe it doesn't matter since both will be working closely together.

I think he will be the judge of talent but Mullin will have the final say in all matters.
