Where they will meet the Pacers

game 1 will start on saturday, 8.00ET

Detroit knock off the Nets in game 7

    90-69

Which has ended NJ's two year reign as eastern conference champions. We are now guaranteed to crown a new conference champion from both the east and the west

Ben Wallace came up huge in tonight's game, with 18 points and surprisely only 8 rebounds. It was the Pistons backcourt that came to play. Billups 22 and Hamilton 21

Jason Kidd did not even register a field goal and was held scoreless

Pacers v Pistons will be a great series.

I honestly don't see Indy's role players being effective enough against the tough Pistons defense. Artest will need to play a monster series.

JO already shoots under 45%, I don't expect it to increase against Wallace x2

    Pistons backcourt kills theirs

but again it depends on what Sheed produces.

Nets fail to score 70 points, no Aaron Williams to tip it in [IMG]

i left school at about 1030 (australia tim) to go to my mates house to watch this game... and the key factor was ben wallace... for him to stop, prop and nail 18ft jumpers was what turned the game and got the detroit fans pumping.... rasheed was also awesome and i loved his put back from tayshauns missed hook..... it was one of the best games ive seen ( i dont see many )

Cool, no more of Richard Jefferson's trash-talking ugliness.

I knew the Pistons would pull it off. Too much depth for NJ and it's time to see who the best team of the east is. Indiana 1st seed vs Detroit with their all star squad. This is going to be special.

The Pistons played well in game 7, the whole team got up for it and they were just to much for New Jersey in the end. Tayshaun Prince wasn't shooting well, but in the end it didn't matter and that shows just how well they were playing. Holding NJ to under 70 is a great achievement, and it will defintely get thier moral up heading into Indiana. The Pacers have home court, so the Pistons will have to win one on the road. The Pacers vs. Pistons should be a great series with lots of matchups to enjoy.

I really think the guard play for the Pistons/Pacers will be the key to the series.

I dont know how the Pacers are going to beat the Pistons to be honest. Oneal is going to have a difficult time vs the Wallace boys. He is in a similar position as K-mart was in the fact that he doesnt play alongside another offensive player at the Center spot, which means that everytime he makes a move the Wallace boys are going to surround him.

I guess the Pacers can play Oneal/Artest/AL on the frontline together, which would provide more offense & may be effective. Also I think the Pacers need a big series from Reggie Miller, you have to knock down perimeter shots against the Pistons. And reggie Miller is still one of the best.

The Pacers on the road scares me. But it should be interesting, I think the Pacers need to win these 1st couple home games, they dont want to go into the Palace in game 3 down in the series. I dont think they would react well to the situation.

I'm glad the Pistons pulled out the victory in this series. I was getting tired of the Buffalo Bills of the NBA going to the Finals every year. The Pacers vs. Pistons is going to be a great series, Rick Carlisle gets to face his old team for a chance at the NBA Finals! These teams make a great series, because of the talented match-ups.

Ben Wallace vs. Jermaine O'neal -- Edge Pacers (slight)
Sheed Wallace vs. Jeff Foster -- Edge Pistons
Tayshaun Prince vs. Ron Artest -- Edge Pacers
Rip Hamilton vs. Reggie Miller -- Draw
Chauncey Billups vs. Jamal Tinsley -- Edge Pistons
    Bench -- Draw
    Coaching -- Draw

This series is going to come down to inside dominance. Whenever the Pistons control the inside, they are unbeatable. In their victories against the Nets, they forced New Jersey to beat them from the perimeter, and the Nets simply didn't have the shooters to defeat the Pistons. I would imagine they use the same strategy against the Pacers, because aside from Reggie Miller, the Pacers don't have many other consistent perimeter players. They rely on being able to drive to the basket, but the Wallaces make it very tough on opponents to get clean looks. The key player in this match-up will be Billups. He struggled in the Nets series, but he should be able to exploit Tinsley in this series and get the Pistons a lot of open looks.

Rip is much better right now that Reggie. Not the Reggie of old, the Reggie of now. There's no way uncle Reg can last chasing Rip all over the court. The guards is where Detroit has the biggest advantage.

Yeeah, thats defently a mismatch, but then again Fred jones on RIp is not a mismatch, and Bender On Rip there the pacers have the edge, artest on Rip: Pacers Edge.

Don't think Carlisle will be stupid enough to have reggie on RIP, when you have, Bender, Artest, Jones, And even Johnson.

    Good Series: Pacers In 7!

I thought the game would be close but Pistons played very well. Kidd looked flat.

if bills' back is fine and sheed's foot doesnt act up, the pistons should take this series. i think they learned from the previous series to be a little bit more focused on the road. they went to jersey and got killed like jersey got killed in det in the first two games. i expect them to steal one of the first two game in indy & be extremely more focused on the road. i don't expect detroit to lose 3 games in a row to the pacers like they did to the nets. they will be more aggressive that have have been in rounds 1 and 2.

    Pistons in 6
