Kenny the Jet Smith last night, said, Peja was a better european player than Dirk. I'm not saying this cuz I'm a Mavs fan but 1-on-1 Dirk will wipe the floor with Peja. Who's better???
I think Dirk is better, Peja doesn't have the ability to create as well as Dirk and isn't near as good a rebouder, even though Dirk only gets boards because he's tall, Dirk can also block better which is another attribute of his height, but Peja is also 6'10 at SF and can't block. They are both bad defenders with Peja being slightly better, and they can both pass but that's not their game, they aren't the best at creating for others. Dirk is better though.
Dirk, no im not being biased because I like Peja as well. Dirk can create his own shot most of the time, Im not saying Peja can't, but when Dirk gets on fire theres nothing you can do but sit back in watch. If Dirk wasnt so injured, I think the Mavs would have had a better record than what they did, being as if Peja is injured the Kings will still do well. In my opinoin.
re i think dirk is a little bit better......but its like to compare Kobe to t-mac... you can't because they're not in the same situation
I don't know, their situations are pretty similar, high power offensive teams with super shooting PG's, and basically every player on the court can shoot.
I'd take Peja personally. I think he works harder, he doesn't simply let the team be. For someone a bit shorter, not saying Dirk is, but I feel he's not as lazy, he's a really good and hard working rebounder. So's Dirk but because of that small difference I'd take him over Dirk.

I think Dirk could beat Peja one on one but Peja is a team player. Not saying Dirk is a ball hog. But even though Peja can shoot good you don't see him goin like Kobe and going isolation, draining it on someone. It seemed to me that Dirk struggled this season a bit. I'd take Peja. Close call.
The reason Peja doesnt go iso is because he cant he has no ability to create his own shot(as weve seen in the playoffs).Dirk can somewhat create his own shot, plus he has played more better games then Peja in the playoffs when it really counts. The only thing Peja does that Dirk doesnt it move good without the ball.So I go with Dirk,Peja is a one dimmensonal player.
I like Peja best...i do like Dirk...and one on one id prolly give the edge to Dirk...just cuz Peja can't create his own shot...but i think Peja is better to me just cuz he's a purer shooter than Dirk...
I would take Dirk. I think you can take Peja out of the game too easily. Where was he game 7? He is a great drive and kick guy, but cannot create a shot to save his life. And nowadays, that is a huge part of the game. Sure he can shoot, but so can Dirk. Dirk can also take it down low and get some boards. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I'd take Peja personally. I think he works harder, he doesn't simply let the team be. </div> Wow, I think the complete opposite. I think that Peja lets the team be, and Dirk takes things onto his own shoulders. Peja completely disappeared in game 7. It waisn't lke he had a bad game, he just disapppeared....3-12, 8 points. You can't get this out of your "MVP" and expect to win the most important game of the season. I think that this season, Peja had a slightly better year, but in the overall scheme, Dirk is the better player, with a better future.
yes he can create his own shot!, but he didn't prove it during the post season http://hoopshype.com/players/predrag_stojakovic.htm
I would definately take dirk. On teams full of superstars, dirk shined in the playoffs while peja faded away. As Dirk got healthy and peja got webber back, they showed their true colors. Overall, I think Dirk is the better player. Better rebounder, pretty much equal in offense, dirk is a slightly better defender IMO, and they are about even in passing.

As for the hardworking part, I said that, due to the fact he's slightly smaller and probably rebounds just as well.
I think Dirk is better... Even though his tall enough to be a center, his moves are for a shooting guard...
Dirk is a better player because he's better at creating his own shot and in post up. Peja is a better shooter though.
If Dirk was going to be my main offensive weapon and franchise player I'd say Dirk because he's a rarity and walking mismatch. However, let's say if my main weapons and franchise players was either Shaq, Ming, Garnett or Duncan, I'd have to go with Peja. He'll make you pay if you leave him wide open. Plus he's improved on defense, he's got some post skills and his ability to create his shot isn't as bad as some mentioned. In fact he's improved on his dribble a lot. Don't forget that Trenton Hassell is an impact defender, especially on the perimeter. He can guard players 5 inches taller than him because he works that hard. So I wouldn't bash Peja for the t-wolves/kings playoff matchups. Besides, Peja was never one to be an impact player during the playoffs or in the clutch. But he can be a devastating player that will hit consistently if left wide open when somebody else is collpasing on a dribble penetration or double teaming someone in the paint. I mean you can rate individual players against one another, but in the end its all about the team.
