<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">EAST LANSING - MSU basketball recruit Drew Neitzel left the sold-out Breslin Center buzzing last Friday night.

The newly crowned Mr. Basketball scored 36 points, dished out six assists and kept his outmanned Wyoming Park team close in a 78-63 Class B semifinal loss to powerful Detroit Renaissance, the eventual state champion.

Neitzel's performance, which came against Mr. Basketball runners-up Malik Hairston and Joe Crawford, was the talk of the three-day tournament.

Current Michigan State point guard Alan Anderson, who watched the game from an upper deck platform with the rest of the Spartans, couldn't say enough about his future teammate.

"I love him," Anderson said, breaking into a huge grin. "He single-handedly did it. They weren't even supposed to be in the game. He willed his way ... he made other players better. That's what we need big-time."</div>

    Story

I believe Nietzel (who will be going to Michigan State next year) is every bit as good as every top 20 recruit. He just doesn't get the publicity, because he doesn't play for teams that get as much media exposure as Oak Hill-type schools. However, he was named the best basketball player in Michigan over two high-school all-americans (Crawford and Hairston). And the other night he proved that wasn't a mistake when he absolutely crushed Crawford and Hairston in a sold out Breslin Center. He's exactly what Michigan State needs to make another title run: a true point guard.

Why does he need to gain twenty pounds? He's a 160 lbs. point guard. Shaun Livingston is about 6 inches taller and has about the same weight; Telfair has the exact same weight; Darius Washington, Jr. has the same weight. I'm missing your point about the weight.

And what's this about Malik holding Neitzel to 10 points? Netizel scored 38 points and dished out 8 assists. Also, what's this about Joe Crawford sucking? He sucks enough to be a High School All-American and ranked by many reputable sites' the top ten lists.

Finally, I highly doubt that Romulus' Coleman will be the Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Not only will Coleman not start his Freshman year, but there are at least ten incoming Big Ten freshman that are rated much higher than him.

Also, work on your grammar; it's hard as heck to read your posts.
