I always hear everyone calling the Warriors a young team. They did it last season and they are even using it for this upcoming season as well. I guess in a way they are young since JRich is about 23 or 24, Mike Dunleavy is 23, Murphy is maybe 24 or 25(i am not sure about Murph), and Pietrus is 21. However if you looked how many years each player has played, JRich and Murphy are both going into their 4th seasons, Speedy in his 5th(or 4th depending on when you count with his rookie injury), and Dunleavy is going into his 3rd year. And if you looked around the league all the top players are only 25-28(Kobe, TMac, KG, Duncan, etc.) and there are even a lot of young star players younger than 25. So I was wondering when the line between young and i guess veteraned is? Is it only because the Warriors haven't had a winning season that makes this team always called young, so they don't get the experiences Kobe, KG, Duncan, etc get that make them "veteraned". Or is it just that people are still using the identity of the Warriors two years ago with Arenas, JRich, Murphy, Jamison, and Dunleavy that was a young and energetic team to describe this Warriors team? What is your opinion: Are the Warriors still young?
I still consider the Warriors a young team or better yet, a maturing team. I say this because of their core group of guys like Cliff mentioned. Dunleavy, J-Rich, Claxton, Murphy are all young or maturing players. That is a good question Cliff. I guess its just a matter of perception.
