Didn't realize who he said that to and was like woops and gets his ass kicked. [IMG] that would be funny, I mean just get ass whooped without having a big injury or anything like that. Just a black eye.</div>

He probably wouldn't have said that to a 6-6 250+ guy, affraid of getting his ass kicked... shows me exactly what kind of man he is...

I think it's gone as far into the productive realm as it's going to and is heading into the ridiculous rather quickly.

Now,onto something I wanted to post before this thread got hijacked.

In alot of other sports the stars are easily accessible and they clearly make just as much money yet don't have their heads so far in the clouds and think they are above everyone else.

MMA fighters, pro boxers & nascar drivers are extremely approachable and open to fans far more so than our NBA cats.

An example..Enson Inoue,a world class MMA fighter and superstar in Japan..recently ran a promotion on an American website to make a highlight video of him and the winner got to spend the month in Japan hanging out with him and training with him.

Even though I think the vast majority of NASCAR drivers are rednecks ( a perception I get from the over abundance of fans of that 'sport') they are extremely approachable to the average fan. And tales of their interaction with fans are legion.

Pro boxers are extremely approachable and on certain websites they come on for chats, give fans phone calls and are extremely interactive with the average fans.

Yet here we are, fans of the NBA where the vast majority of the superstars think they are above us and we should be greatful to even speak their names.
I know there are exceptions but there are many many examples of the NBA players blowing off the average guy (rudely at that) same goes for MLB and NFL players.

Of course there are exceptions in the above sports I mentioned (boxing,MMA and NASCAR) but for the most part they treat their fans ALOT better than NBA players ever thought about doing. I've heard and read many accounts of NBA stars blowing off their fans and personally know of 3 such events and to me,like I said earlier in the thread,it gets very discouraging and makes me wonder why I even bother to care about the NBA anymore.

Why are the NBA players so aloof and other sports stars recognize what the fans truly mean to their respective sports?

I live in VA, so NASCAR is really popular here. They are always running promotion with local radio stations for meet n greets and stuff like that. They are pretty down to earth from what I have heard.

I should've just left it as would Marbury wouldn't do that to a guy the size of the Rock.
Anyways, isn't Magic host the Nascar thing to attract other types of ppl? As far as meeting famous ppl I never really look foward to just seeing them cause don't wanna get my hopes up for anybody and be dissapointed.

All I seen was Scott Hall from wrestling and said whatsup. He was cool, oh and I liked seeing Beyonce in person. Didn't say nothing but she really is breathtaking in person. [IMG]

Seeing her in person and not even trying to say hi? You'll regret that for the rest of your life. [IMG]

Makes a whole world of difference, eh? Hehehe. But seriously, I would've tried to get her attention. Maybe she'd look at me when I say hi. It doesn't matter if she says hi back or not. Just the mere fact that she looked at me. It wouldn't even matter if she says f*** off.

But if Steph was the one who told me to f*** off, I would've punched him in the nose. If I was a great fan of his like the 16 year old kid. I mean, I look up to him and buy his stuffs. He's supposed to be the guys' hero. If I was that fan, my world will crumble, then I'll whack him. But I'm not a fan so I'll skip the "my world will crumble" part and go straight to whacking him. He's making me angry.

Don't NBA stars make a lot more money than boxers (outside of the heavyweight champ) and NASCAR drivers? I don't think that Japanese guy you mentioned, for example, makes $20+ million/year like Steph, so he's less inclined to isolate himself from the "lesser" people of the world.

That was a pretty sh*ty thing of Steph to do. But you cant judge him on that one incident. I mean, yeah, he might very well be the person he acted like when that incident happened, but he might have just been in a bad mood or he was having a bad day, or he was pissed at something that had recently happenend before. He could really be a better person than he acted like, but still, he went a little over the top. But hey, this doesn't come as a suprise.A lot of sports athletes are idiots and selfish people, so it's not anything new. Incidents like this happen all the time....

[IMG] you got a point, but that would be most nonexpecting reaction from her. Anybody would be in [IMG] if that happened.

Yup, but dude who got banned for me making comments about Marbury getting whooped. Homeboy threaten to whoop me, then this thread got closed and reopened.
But ya man, bottomline there is no excuse for him telling fan to F off just trying to get an autograph.

Another member told me he was nice in person though, I guess Dre's cousin happened to catch the badside of Marbury. You don't always have to be nice, but at least be respectable towards other ppl unless there's a good reason for a star to be upset.

Yea he should've been respectable, but making a professional sport doesn't make someone a nice person, or a respective person. That's basically the bottom line.

You said it perfectly. He might have had caught the badside of Marbury, and he may be a nice or better person. But the way he acted, he must have had been in a REALLY bad mood or had a good reason to be that hostile. Just feel bad for your cuz, DRE. But tell him to keep his head up, ya know?

Dude? How could ANYONE be so mean. It desnt make sense, the least they can do for the fans is sign autographs, and even more at that. It doesnt make any sense. and u would think playing basketball and all that they would like all of the attention and the fame. especially if ur a rookie. I no i would. I say they owe the fans some respect.
