<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Dre:</div><div class="quote_post">Why are the NBA players so aloof and other sports stars recognize what the fans truly mean to their respective sports?</div> I put that on the league's culture. If you are a driver in NASCAR, from the moment you get there you know there's going to be interaction with the fans and you are expected to behave in a certain manner. It comes with the territory. NASCAR drivers also know that their endorsement and merchandising opportunities depend on how friendly and down-to-earth they are perceived to be as much as their winning record. Now in the NBA we like Sheed and AI and Steph no matter how bad they act, it's no wonder players think they can abuse fans. The reality is NBA fans buy into the bad boy, thugged out, sulky image. Why isn't Duncan's jersey a best seller?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting jiggax23:</div><div class="quote_post">for those of you sticking up for the way steph conducted himself, let me pose a situation for you... im standing in line in the grocery market with a shopping cart full of stuff, your mom walks up behind me with 1 item and ask if she could jump ahead of me, and i tell her "No, f*** off old woman." Am i not an a-hole? Yea, i have the right to reject her request to jump ahead of me in line, but there are better ways of doing so. If I told your mom to f*** off, would u defend me in this case?</div> THIS IS THE BEST POST IN THE WHOLE THREAD. Good point.
