15 points 6 assists and NO TURNOVERS in 36 minutes for a guy that rarely ever gets much playing time, especially not in the playoffs. He outscored the monstrosity that is Shaq even! I'm surprised no one has started a topic on him yet....
Darrick Martin did play very well in the absence of Sam due to injuries. It was a great decision to sign him when Troy had sugery that would not let him play in the postseason. He knows Flip's system very well since Flip coached him in the CBA. He didn't play in game 1 but played very well in game 2 when we needed help. But he takes too many 3's. He has made more 3pt shots than 2pts shots. Anyway, great performance by Darrick but I don't see him doing this again in game 3.
I dont see him having another performance like that this series. It was rare and unexpected. Now that the Lakers know he will be seeing more playing time due to Cassell's injury, they can prepare and plan for him.
