<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Sam Cassell returned to the court for practice Monday, and the Timberwolves' point guard said again that he doesn't plan to let his bad back keep him out of Game 3 of the Western Conference finals. In too much pain to play the fourth quarter of Game 1 against the Lakers, Cassell started Sunday's Game 2 - but lasted only 43 seconds before hobbling off. Minnesota beat Los Angeles 89-71 to even the series at one game apiece. "I felt a little better," Cassell said Monday as he left Target Center before the Timberwolves left for California. "I'm still not where I want to be at," he said. "It's tough, man. I just want to have a little confidence in my body."</div> Link
Here we go again. Well let’s just hope if he still intends to play, he better last longer than 43 seconds. The game Darrack Martin had last night one a twice in a lifetime a game. He's somewhat capable of doing it again, but lets be serious its the Playoff's and he's not big time star. So the T'Wolves were lucky that they got some production from Martin since Cassell was out. But, the next game is going to be a whole new game, and they're going to NEED Sam Cassell in order to win. So lets see what happens. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"I felt a little better,"</div> That's not going to cut it. Gary Payton isn't the same defender, but even he will be able to take advantage of Cassell disabilities.
I have gained a lot of respect for Cassell over the past few days. It takes a man to do what he has done.

Alot of players wouldn't play under his circumstances. He has a big heart. Sam knows how important this game is for the Wolves and will try to contribute the most that he can before he can't play anymore. But I agree the team will need Sam in order to win but if everybody can play well and contribute, there might still be a chance of winning without Sam. BTW it's Darrick not Darrack.
I really admire Cassell's determination to play. Despite the game 2 win almost without him, the T-Wolves really need him. They can't rely on Darrick Martin to pick up for Sam Cassell when he's not there. Cassell understands how important this game is, and will try everything to play. He will be playing through pain, just because he wants to help his team win at all costs.

Cassell, so much heart in such a small and fragile frame. Big ups to the big talker, major props. If they're to win, they're gonna need him, he has the skills, the leadership and more important, the clutchness and versatility that make him good on both ends, more especially his needed offense. Plus he's the true, more experienced and better PG, regardless of his shoot first, pass later mentality. Martin's doing great don't get me wrong, but against a team as good as this and in such a dangerous situation Cassell is bound to be at his best, seeing as he thrives on it. I just hope he doesn't hurt himself any further, not that he cares, he's all about the team.

But who knows how he'll feel on the court? He may have a big heart, but his heart my stand in his way. What I'm saying is that he could be hurting real bad but he won't say a word, because he has a lot of pride and doesn’t want to go out in that fashion. What he may be doing is hurting the team. But like I've said before if Sam thinks he could play, he'll play. I'm just hoping things won't end up the same way it did in Game 2.
Hopefully Sammy will give the wolves 30 minutes tonight. His pressence on the court will be a calming effect for the Wolves to see their floor general out their competing with them.
