    Article from INDYstar:

The idea hadn't really crossed Reggie Miller's mind. The Olympics? Again?

The Indiana Pacers' 38-year-old guard assumed he was finished with international competition, having played on the 1996 U.S. Olympic team and on the 1994 and 2000 World Championship teams.

But the question came up again Sunday, after Detroit coach Larry Brown, who will coach the U.S. team in Athens, recommended Miller for a spot Saturday.

"I keep begging for him to be on the team," Brown said. "With the guys leaving, his leadership and the fact he'll make big shots, I think he'd be great."

    Miller's reaction?

"I'm a little too old for that," he said, smiling.

Miller didn't completely rule out the idea, however. Several players offered spots on the Olympic team have backed out or threatened to do so, citing fatigue, injuries or personal conflicts. Miller considers that "unfortunate."

"I'm not saying no," he said. "Right now I'm just being in the moment of the Eastern Conference finals. I'll evaluate everything after this."

Miller severely sprained an ankle during an exhibition game before the World Championships in 2002. That injury changed the complexion of the Pacers' season, and required postseason surgery.

Pacers coach Rick Carlisle endorsed Miller for the team, and wondered about two other players, too.

"My question is, why isn't Ben Wallace or Ron Artest on that team?" Carlisle said, referring to Detroit's center and the Pacers' forward.

I would love to see him in Athens again, what are your opinions?
