<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Charlotte Observer: Bernie Bickerstaff said he believes the Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Clippers may be interested in trading their picks. The results of last night?s Draft lottery determined that the teams will select numbers 1 and 2, respectively. The Bobcats will contact the teams to inquire about a swap of the number 4 pick plus additional compensation. "It makes sense to me that if these teams could get veteran help to improve their position, they'd listen," Bickerstaff said. Connecticut?s Emeka Okafor and Atlanta high school star Dwight Howard are the consensus top two picks in this draft. The Magic and/or Clippers may be looking for a veteran player who can step in and contribute immediately. "I think what you do is call and ask if there's anything we can do to satisfy their needs," Bickerstaff said. </div> Read The Rest
orlando trading the #1? i highly doubt that orlando will trade away the #1 pick, because Tracy McGrady is going to leave the team unless he thinks they can win. i think he is more likely to stay if orlando picks, say, Emeka Okafor, rather than trade the pick away for a veteran. edit: my bad, didn't realize you meant trade #1 for #4 AND a veteran.

Orlando's biggest need would be a point guard, then a center, then a wing/shooting guard. Their least needed position is a power forward, and that's what the top two prospects are. The Magic don't need Okafor; they already have Gooden, Howard, and Garrity.
I think they have the best chance with the Clipps IMO. I think they will look to trade because they are looking for a PG and no PG deserves to go #2 in this draft. I think they could be possibly looking at Dwight Howard. A Young Freak PF, who draws comparisons to KG. Nice way to start off a Franchise.
Bobcats I think should just sit put. I think it goes: Magic - Okafor Clippers - Livingston Bulls - Luol Deng Bobcats - Dwight Howard

The Bobcats should just pick Deng, or talk with the Bulls and get them to pick Deng if they would take some $?

They know that Chicago won't take Livingston, so why not trade down to 4th, knowing they'd still get him, and also get a veteran for free?
Yeah I put a different idea in the Clippers forum. I think they draft Howard and trade him to Charlotte or Atlanta.
The Clippers should draft Howard then trade him to the Bobcats for Livingston or Gordon and someone else, that would be good for both teams. 1) Orlando = Okafor 2) LA Clippers = Howard (Trade to Bobcats for Livingston and a veteran PG from expansion draft if possible) 3) Chicago = Luol Deng 4) Charlotte = Shaun Livingston or Gordon

I do agree with CarMeLos list if there wasn't any trades involving a pick...Dwight Howard will be a franchise player..what more could you ask for if you were the Bobcats..and Bulls won't pick him because they have enough head aches straight from high school.

The 'Cats get a good player in Dwight Howard, and the Clips will get the much desired PG they need. Chicago is happy with Luol Deng(the type of player they need) And of course Orlando gets Okafor.
I think that the clips should draft DH and trade him for Livingston and a wing since they are probaly going to loose Q-Rich

I think Livngston in the first year can get something like 20 minutes a game and have 5.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.5 blocks, but shoot 37.8% from the field lol. If we do lose Q-Rich which is very possible, we <u>could</u> move Jaric to the 2 guard position, I don't know if that's very suitable, but it's a possibility, and we can also pursue free agents.
For the Cats to move up they have to pick up a somewhat valuable point guard in the expansion draft to cover their loss. I don't think that is going to happen.
If im the GM of the Bobcats then I wouldnt trade my pick. Stick with my pick. If you look at the board close enough you realise you could get a great player for your franchise in Dwight Howard 1-Orlando-They are most likely gonna take Okafor 2-Clippers-They need a point and Howard doesnt play that so they will take Livingston 3-Bulls-Arent looking for a PF so theyll take Deng This would be the perfect guy for thr Bobcats to take. He is likeable the fans will like him, and he is very marketbale. Also he is very good and could be a star. If he works on his inside game he could be great.
Or the Clippers could be smart and take Howard and use him as trade bait to get a PG and something else from the Bobcats.
