Should the Grizzlies trade up in the draft, and is so - how far up? I saw this in the Chicago Tribune and was intruiged -
Quote:

The Bulls need somebody ready to contribute minutes and quality, like Wally Szczerbiak, Antawn Jamison, Shane Battier, Al Harrington or Shareef Abdur-Rahim. Chicago Sends: Eddie Robinson OR Jerome Williams #3 pick Memphis Sends: Shane Battier Mike Miller #50 or future 2nd rounder
Boo. Though I despise Miller, the number 3 is no good for us. We don't need any more guards, and we don't need any more forwards. We need a fucking centre. The only centres in draft are going in the mid to late first, so if we can maybe keep Battier, and get a lower pick, I'd be all for it. The way I see it, the number three is useless.

It's a question of which SF combination is better: Battier/Miller or D.Jones/Deng?
Either way, swingmen are a dime a dozen. Get a big. (And all things being equal, I like Shane. Keep him, I say.)

The cap room isn't enough for them to do it either, imo. How about - Philadelphia Sends: Todd MacCulloch #11 pick Memphis Sends: Stromile Swift Dahntay Jones #50 pick Future 2nd Philadelphia does this because they lose MacCulloch's God awful contract and get a legit starting center by Eastern standards as well as some youth with potential in Dahntay Jones (and the picks). Memphis does this because nothing they send out really means anything to them; they can afford to bear the weight of Todd's contract; and they could always use a big man with the #11 pick.
That trade, I'd be all for that. They could get something good at eleven, and Stro has shown he's not going to 'do it' as a Grizzly.
