It seems as if these two guys are really good friends. I never noticed this. In a short period of time, they have gotten a strong hold of each other, and Kobe has even been quoted as saying "Like a father" about the 40 year old Malone. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Malone said he believes Bryant has been happier than he?s ever seen him recently. ?The conversations we?ve had the last two weeks have been unbelievable,? said Malone, 40, 15 years older than Bryant. ?I?ve seen him laugh more in the last two weeks than the whole season. I just like to make him laugh. It?s been great. ?Really and truly, with his situation, you don?t know what?s going to happen. We?ve become very good friends.? When asked about Malone?s assessment, Bryant grimaced and replied: ?I don?t know. I joke around with Karl a lot ? he?s probably the one I joke around with the most. Karl?s and my relationship has been great. We?re practically neighbors. We joke around a lot, talk about the game a lot.? Yea I have noticed he is Closte with Malone on the team. THey have developed a great relationship. Could you imagine if these two played together in Malone's prime, and where Kobe is where he is now...that would be one sick duo.
I'm not surprised. The way they play on the court is amazing. They have such great chemistry. Friends off the court leads to unselfish plays on the court.
if you remember in one of the all-star games, back when it was kobe's rookie or second year, kobe and malone had a argument. Malone went to set a pick for Kobe on Michael Jordan near the baseline, and Kobe just wavied him off. and Malone was caught say that Kobe is too arrogant. and now they are best of friends???
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting los:</div><div class="quote_post">Uhm...A lot happens in 8 years. And yes, at 18/19 years old, Kobe was too arrogant.</div> Really, anyways that's a good thing for Kobe. He's such a loaner and it's good that he really gets along with someone on his team off the court.

Kobe & Shaq buddies...I Wouldn't have imagined this 3 or 4 years ago,but hey it doesn't matter wheither or not their buddies or enemies,as long as they can win games for the Lakers, than that shouldn't matter
