What is going on with Jay Williams? Does anyone know if he will play this upcoming season?

I really hope he can come back, I think he had his moments during his rookie season and can definately become a player in the league one day if healthy.

Here is a Jay Williams journal-like thing.

I've made some major strides since the last time I posted my thoughts on NBA.com. I'm now working out in a gym, taking an endless number of jumpers as well as doing some cutting and shooting off of screens. I'm even tapping the backboard, which makes me feel like I'm back in seventh grade. It's OK because it's a sign of real progress. I'm also learning to jump on one leg again. Actually, my left quad is looking as big as my right quad, which I never thought that day would arrive. I'm also jogging backwards and even taking a Kung Fu class to work on my balance and enhance my mid-body strength.</div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I know. It's been awhile but ever since returning from L.A. and the All-Star festivities, I've been so focused and determined to get back onto the court. I'm happy to report that I'm progressing really well in my rehab. For the first time, I'm able to do some light weight running on the treadmill and I ran for something like five minutes before I broke down because I was so doggone tired. But what an awesome feeling. I'm also doing a lot more running and cycling in the water. I'm even starting to feel parts of my foot again and my ankle is starting to come back around. I'm still on two a days but often times I go back during lunch to rehab some more. Sometimes I get in a little bit of trouble because I get so focused and pumped up to do things that I may over do it a little bit. So, I have to be careful.</div>

I hope Jay comes back too, he was great as a rookie, i remember his triple double against the nets. It was sad what happened to him, but if he can overcome that setback he can still be a good player in the league. All the luck and then some to Jay Williams in his comeback...

Yeah he had a bright future in the leauge but to come back ot be the player he once was will be hard, but it seems like he is working hard, you never know he may come back and be a star ,but a doubt he will ever be the same player again.

Jay will have a bright future if he come's back atleast half the player he was, he was a phenominal player for a rookie last year. Jay Williams would've played astoundingly this season if he played, Jay had a triple double???? I didnt know he was that good as a rookie........

Yeah he had a triple double against New Jersey. He had 26 points, 14 rebounds, and 13 assists, in 45 minutes.

Well when he is ready to come back,he should be a free agent because the Bulls released him because they were still paying him despite him not playing,so they released him so they would get cap space, but I remember them saying that when Jay Williams is ready to play again they will probally try to sign him.

I would think the first place he would look is Chicago if he were to come back. They paid him a couple million after the accident for the buyout, when they really weren't even obligated to do that. They could have chosen to just let him go, but they chose to give him a buyout. That shows some class in the Bulls organization, and I think he'll be conacting them before any team about a comeback to the NBA.

That would be difficult cause we would have 4 point guards (if you count Jamal Crawford). We would probably have to get rid of Pargo or Crawford

Jay Williams reminds me of Grant Hill. No matter how hard either one of them try, they will never return to their old form.

Good question - And no one really knows the answer to that. He's still trying to work his way back to playing level, and who knows if he's even going to play in the NBA again. He's expressed interest in playing for the Bulls again, but they currently seem set on the PG position. Kirk is a worthy starter, and a PG for the future, Jay will have to realize that if he signs with them again.

I hope he comes back, I wasnt a fan at all of him at Duke, but he had a bright career in front of him. I dont know if he will be able to come back though because this injury was really severe.

The Bulls need to get rid of pargo
so Jay can be the 6th man for the bulls next
year he wont start unless they trade J.Crawford
then maybe put him at the 2?
He is'nt tall but can beat defenders of the dribble

No based on his condition, I don't think he'll even be as good as Pargo next season... so no, I wouldnt let Jay take Pargo;s spot.

We're still going to need a 3rd pointguard, so he should make the roster. He'll be the third pointguard in our rotation so he won't log major minutes, so his conditioning should be fine for the role as a 3rd string PG, and eventually in the future maybe a second string.

He said hes going to give the bulls the first chance at signing him back, because of the way they handled the situation.

Pargo is not even close to being as good as Jay
just because he is hurt doesnt mean that he's not any good.
I think when Jay comes back he is going to be a top PG.

The Bulls will resign him thats a no brainer [IMG]
