<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Trade talks are in the "infant stages," one league source said, but there are many ongoing discussions, and the Nets are in the midst of many of them. And the talks could be more serious than just business as usual chats.

Using Kerry Kittles and any combo of side components - Aaron Williams, Rodney Rogers, Lucious Harris - the Nets have talked to Seattle regarding Ray Allen, who is entering the final year of his contract, worth $14,625,000. </div>

Just customary talks I would think, can't see a lot coming to fruition if the Nets don't want to give up their three big names (particularly K-Mart). Make of it what you will.

Even If NJ offered K-mart for Allen I still wouldn't be totally sure If thats a great move for the Sonics but Kerry Kittles, Rodney Rogers? or Aaron Williams? I thought april fools pasted by?

Kittles is a decent player who can shoot the ball but he isn't on the level of Ray Allen.

It's the New York media again trying to build up terrible trades, here's me thinking It only applied for the Knicks.

I would love to add K-Mart to the Sonics...but Kittles and company...no thanks. A K-Mart trade would make alot more sense than the other trade rumors because Kenyon is a proven talent that will contribute immediately and give the Sonics inside aggressiveness rather than questions marks that are hit or miss and may or may not make the Sonics better.

I dont know about Kmart being a proven talent either.. After all, he does play in the Eastern conference where he doesnt have much competition at his position, and he does play with Kidd..

Rob thorn has already made it perfectly clear that trading K-Mart is a very last option, if contract talks dont work out. So I dont think Thorn is listening to talk possiblities right now for him. And I most def wouldnt want Ray Allen in return for him. Ray has alot of talent but it would be stupid to trade an all-star caliber big body(with nothing but upside) without getting a big back especially for the Nets who have no productive size other than Martin.

So sonic fans that trade happening is very unlikely, so no need to worry about whether Martin is good without kidd? He wont be on your team anyway, I can almost count on it. You guys dont have any big bodies to make a deal worth wild to the Nets to give up Martin.

As far as Kerry, Lu, Rodney Rogers, Aaron Williams for Ray Allen. The Nets are giving up alot of bodies. But they are also giving up alot of bad contracts. And getting a shooter & a guy who can create his own shot in the half court something the Nets desprately need to put on the wing along side RJ. Adding Allen would make the Nets a better half-court team over night. But the Nets lose some steam on defense with the exchange of Allen & Kittles on the Perimeter. But as a Nets fan of course Iam all in for this trade.

I think Kerry Kittles would do a solid job, in the Sonics system. The Sonics are a transition, jump shooting team, that is exactly what Kittles is best at. And he is very underatted as a perimeter defender, he can guard most players at both perimeter positions. And Lucious Harris gives you a veteran guard option off the bench. And Aaron Williams adds to the depth of your bigman spot.

I would be totally lying if I didnt say that the Nets were clearly getting the best out of the deal. But the Sonics are still getting some solid parts. And most importantly you guys would get players with playoff experience(of course not saying Ray doesnt). And inorder for the Sonics to return to the playoff level they have to add players who have been there before.

I don't want K-Mart myself, and I most certainly don't want Kerry Kittles, who is just a poor man's Rip Hamilton. If that's the best we could do for Ray Allen I'd be very, very surprised.

The Nets could do well offer us a K-Mart package for Ray Allen and attempt to sign Stromile Swift to the MLE.

    Kidd/Allen/Jefferson/Swift/Krstic or Kidd/Kittles/Jefferson/Martin/Krstic

Go with the All-Star backcourt plus someone who could feasibly have a similar impact to Martin, or the line-up which failed you in the finals this year... you decide.

Rod Thorn has been quoted on the subject, they say he is VERY high on Ray Allen. The possibility of a K-mart for Ray deal is certainly present. However, Seattle would probably be forced to give up a future draft pick in addition to Ray.

If Thorn can't get Allen expect him to snag Brent Barry, he is high on Barry as well.

In conclusion- Sonics fans- Expect to have ONE of your Guards (Allen, Or Barry) sporting a Nets uni next year.

Also- Flip Murray is (supposedly) on the block, Houston may be interested.

Just out of interest, would Brent be prepared to go up to New Jersey? He'll likely have a plethora of options in terms of interested teams, and I get the feeling that he'd prefer to stay in Seattle or a Western Conference team.

I wouldn't give up a draft pick along with Ray to get Kenyon. The Sonics are going to need all the picks they can get in the years coming. And if they trade for Kenyon, they have to sign Barry. Period. Nobody else on the team (except Ridnour, who's not ready) could come as close to maximizing K-Mart's skills as Jason Kidd does than Barry.

I don't think Kenyon is worth a maximum deal either.

Kenyon will be deserving of a max deal in about 2 or 3 years. I doubt anyone will give him the max right now.
