I was just re-reading the Links on SLAMOnline today, and this was pretty interesting. On a thursday night, with shows like CSI, ER, and Will & Grace pulling in heavy ratings every time, TNT managed to get the number one spot.

    1.) TIMBERWOLVES/LAKERS (TNT) -- 2,096,000
    2.) PRIMETIME THURSDAY (ABC) -- 2,022,000
    3.) CSI (CBS) -- 1,906,000
    4.) COYOTE UGLY (ABC) --1,899,000
    5.) FRIENDS (NBC) -- 1,783,000
    6.) WILL & GRACE (NBC) -- 1,650,000
    7.) WITHOUT A TRACE (CBS) -- 1,629,000
    8.) E.R. (NBC) -- 1,402,000
    9.) SCRUBS, 9:30PM (NBC) -- 1,391,000
    10.) WWE SMACKDOWN! (UPN) -- 1,079,000

Remember last year not many people watched the playoffs, and the NBA had to have Hardwood Classics Night a couple of times to get people interested. Shows that everyone wants to watch the Lakers.

Lakers are the main attraction in the League, only 2 other players have as wide an appeal as Kobe Bryant (AI and T-Mac) . then you have the whole dynasty thing . Two hall of famers , sexual assault case, and the breaking apart of the team, oh yeah and Shaq whining and moaning about how he should get 30 million a year . Because he is so muh better than Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett who both make 17 million a year. Dont get me wrong without Shaq , the Lakers would be looking towards Father Dwight Howard for some guidance , instead of playing for a title. It is a reality show which really is real.

^ Yeah WWE is pretty garbage now, And I dont follow those other shows on that list but Iam pretty sure this close to the summer, most of those other shows are re-runs,which millions of viewers already saw, which takes away from their ratings.

But its still impressive that a playoff game on cable, would get over 2 million viewers but then again it was during a work week day, so alot of people where inside at home by 9:00pmEST, when that game was on.

Pretty impressive, I thought if they were to rank anywhere it would be around 5, not number 1. Well that is what having a team with a Player accused of rape, the best player in the NBA (yes Kobe), a top 5 player in the NBA, and 4 HOFamers will do for you.

I agree and was very much surprised by the results. I didn't watch it, but didn't watch wrestling either. [IMG]

Kobe Bryant is a great player but not the best. Last time I checked it was Tim Duncan and Shaquille O'Neal.

I wouldn't even call Shaq the best, maybe the most dominating when he wants too.

TD and KG are in a class of their own.

^^Agreed... Shaq isn't even a top 5 player IMO, but KG and TD are 1 and 2 IMO

That's why they air it during that time so more people are going to watch it.

My mistake, you guys are right, I forgot about KG. No disrespect to Shaq and Kobe, but if Kobe or Shaq were on the Spurs or T-Wolves, those two teams wouldnt be as good as they are with TD and KG. Kobe, Tracy, Shaq , and everyone else is so far behind Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan. Those two are unbelievable and make their teammates better . Certainly, T-Mac and Kobe dont make their teammates better , both of them are selfish, and at times hurt their teammates.
