The Jazz will play an exhibition game against storied CSKA on Oct. 8 at the Universal Sport Hall CSKA in Moscow on Oct. 8, the NBA formally announced Tuesday.
It will be the preseason opener for Utah, which will open training camp just a few days before leaving for Russia.
CSKA's most well-known alum is Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko, a first-time all-star in the 2003-04 NBA season. Others who have played previously for the Moscow team include current Jazz restricted-free-agent shooting guard Gordan Giricek and ex-Jazz guard Rusty LaRue.
"I am very pleased and honored to be returning back to my native country with my NBA team, the Utah Jazz," Kirilenko, the NBA's only current Russian player, said in a statement released by the league.
"It will be a great matchup with my former team CSKA," he added, "and I look forward to playing again in front of my countrymen."</div>

CSKA Moscow are a great European team, and it should be a good match. Andrei Kirilenko will get a lot of cheers from the crowd, and I expect him to play well. If Utah draft Sergei Monya, they could be playing with or against him depending on if they choose to let him carry on playing in Europe.
