    Damir Omerhodzic
    Birthdate: 12/26/85
    NBA Position: SF/PF
    Ht: 6-10
    Wt: 225
    Hometown: Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina

Damir Omerhodzic is not from Croatia, but rather from Bosnia & Herzegovina. Many people mix him up.

He is a pretty good talent, I have been fortunate to see him play on TV. He has a very strong offensive game, can shoot from just about anywhere. His shooting from beyond the arc is very efficient, shoots the lights out from there. Has very long arms and a lenghty 6'10 frame so rebounding and shot blocking isn't a hassle. Some things he needs to work on is court orrientation, he finds him self lost at times. Defense is another thing, as with most European prospects, he lacks defense.

OT: He's from my hometown!

Wow, I saw his birthdate... you know you're getting old when people the same age as you are in the draft!

Well that sounds good he kind of sounds like a Dirk Nowitzki type player, a big player with range, from what I read,I dont think he would be a bad choice for the Sixers but I've never seen him play so I am not sure.

Why would he be a good choice for us, if he obviosuly can't play defense? That's what we're lacking.

This must mean something....none of those players are owrth taking at 9 and with the exception of JR Smith, they are all 2nd rounders....Maybe we're thinking about trading down and getting some extra picks?

76ers worked out Nelson, Childress, Gordon, and Hawkins yesterday. O'brien didn't reverse his statement about Nelson not being what the sixers are looking for. But he did praise and drool at what he seen in Gordon. He said that Gordon is a great scorer and has the intangibles they are looking for in the draft. I seen some of the workout on CSN this morning and Gordon did look sweet.

Definitely has potential. The fact that he's tall and can rebound is what mosts interests me. We've always lacked a decent defensive player since AI has been suffering and we've never really had any great centers with this current roster, only our legendary championship team, Moses Malone could've done that.

The scoring is a great and added bonus, AI may be all used up soon. If he can be taught defense, this could be one heck of a trade.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">“I thought all four guys were very impressive today,” said 76ers Head Coach Jim O’Brien at the conclusion of the Sixers second pre-draft-workout. “(76ers Senior Vice President and Assistant General Manger) Tony DiLeo said this is one of the most competitive workouts that he has seen in his 14 years of doing this. I thought it was great. Guys really competed hard.”

Connecticut guard Ben Gordon, Stanford forward Josh Childress, St. Joseph’s guard Jameer Nelson and Temple guard David Hawkins, who was in for his second workout after impressing the 76ers front office on Friday, were put through their paces in the hour-long session.

The problem for the Sixers is that currently they have just one pick, No. 9 overall, in this year’s draft. Of course, there is always the chance of a trade to move the Sixers up or down.

“I think Billy (King) will do whatever he thinks can improve our basketball team and if moving that pick to move up to get somebody we’re really enamored with to move down to get a couple of picks," O’Brien said. "He’ll be very aggressive in trying to put us in the best situation to win.”

Gordon, a member of the 2004 NCAA Final-Four All-Tournament Team and 2004 NCAA champion Huskies, talked about the competition he faced during the workouts and his decision to go come out early to the NBA .

“We competed well today. We played two games of two-on-two and we split them because of the competitiveness,” Gordon said. “I’m definitely comfortable with my decision (to forgo my final year in college), I think it was my time. I did three years, and I got a lot of experience. So I think that will help me out.”

When asked about what his contributions would be to the 76ers if drafted, Gordon replied: “I think I would bring a lot more scoring from the wings and defensive pressure to help a guy like Allen Iverson.”</div>

Seems like Sixers are gonna draft Ben Gordon,a lot of fans wanted to get rid of Eric Snow last season, now we have a chance to get a point guard who has great potential to be an all-star.Actually I think Sixers would draft Igaudola or Childress or even Jameer Nelson but now we have Jim O'Brien as our head coach who loves to let players shoot a lot of 3 pointers. This means no Igaudola or Nelson (who is also too small to play with AI in the same backcourt),If Gordon is taken before the #9th pick then I see a trade coming as we may trade #9th pick and a second round pick for Gordon.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">But this isn't about great stories. It's about the Sixers - who have a 5-foot-something guard named Allen Iverson - trying to get better. O'Brien doesn't think they can do that by adding a 5-foot-something guard named Nelson. The coach took pains to praise Nelson, to say he expected Nelson to be a great pro.

i believe BG and AI would be a great backcourt for us...i think if he does go before the 9th pick i say we give up our pics for him...because we can already see obie wants him..then our backcourt could possible put up numbers like rip, billups(if iverson is healty)..

No way. I thought Ben Gordon would be out of our reach. But Livingston is pretty much locked for the #1-5 Draft Pick's.

Maybe next year if the draft is strong the 76ers trade AI for a vet or a very high pick and he will try to fill his shoes. Maybe they should clean house. Just a suggestion.

I would so pick Gordon over Livingston. Gordon is mature and has proved so much at a higher level than Livingston has. I know Shaun is taller but he is also like crack head skinny, he will get bumped around majorly in the big league. Gordon is solid as a rock and is on place to be a Cassell - Payton type of scoring post-up PG in the NBA. Also he will bring an outside threat to Philly, which we need very much. One more thing is that Livingston looked like crap in most of the HS All-Star games and looked very confused sometimes.
