I had to go out of town friday evening & on the way out of town I'm listening to the radio and I hear that Divac has decided that he wants to pursue other cities rather than resign with the Kings. however, i have not found anything further on this. Does anyone have any further information? There has been nothing in the local papers and I have found nothing online regarding this.
It has been reported he has told his close friends he would like to return to L.A with either the Clippers or the Lakers. But as always at this stage, there's no actual truth to this rumour.
The Kings arent losing much IMO.I think this would be beneficial for the Kings, now they can start Brad Miller at the center spot.
it would be good money-wise, but I think it would be bad in terms of on court performance. I'm wondering if this is either a shameless plot by the media to stir up controversy (nawwww... they would NEVER do that........would they???? ) or if some of the on court chemistry got rubbed the wrong way after their quick playoff exit...
I agree, I think it is more beneficial, get the cap space back and Brad Miller would become the full time starter. I have heard this rumor too, and I would think a lot of Laker fans dont want him, I think he could end up being a Clipper though.
As a Laker fan I would not welcome Vlade back. He would help the Lakers, but I just don't like the player he's become with the Kings. I cannot stand his antics on defense, his flopping, and his constant complaints on every call made by the ref. Vlade would be a nice fit with the Clippers. He would help improve their young big men, and be the veteran leader they lack. At this point in his career, Divac would make a better teacher of the game than actual player on the court. Another nice fit would be in Houston to help Yao improve his game.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">As a Laker fan I would not welcome Vlade back.</div> Because he was a King. Like everyone else has already stated, this might be the best move. He's well past his prime and his game is slowly fading. If he decides to persue other options, this could clear things up for Brad Miller. He's the younger and more talented player, who is the worthy starter.
Confusing!! If Vlade wants to come to LA he needs to learn the new LA offence! Vlade was a Sacremento King, the Lakers hate them but he is also friends with a few players in LA because he use to play their. But he will take up some of Shaq's time on the court and some of his points, so.. im not really sure if he should come or not..
I cant see the lakers offering him a contract. I can see the clippers doing that however. still... I find it odd that I heard only one peep about this on the radio last friday... I got home thinking that i would have lots of it to go through when i got back, and there is nothing about it anywhere.

I heard the same broadcast and was surprised to find Divac throwing some gas on the growing East/West divide fire. He definatly took shots at the coaches and Webber and defended Peja. He complained about not being given enough playing time to contribute fully (what a load, we all know he's too tired). He also said that they have abandoned Peja on the offense. Note to Peja: Great players put themselves back into an offense, even when it "abandons" you. Vlade lives in LA and basically said he wants to go back and that he owes this franchise nothing. Kind of weird to see the Kings chemistry break up like this. Also on the radio show was a comment about Webber yelling to Bibby "If he's afraid, don't pass him the ball!" about Peja in game 7. hmmm....
At This point it wouldn't suprise me that Divac would be leaving the Kings...In my opinon,he did played decently, but not well enough to be considered a big help,so it may happen with him leaving the Kings As far as him going to the Lakers..I highly Doubt it.i really don't see how he can contribute for them, but i can see him as a clipper,as he can provide veteran leadership which that franchise needs BAD!! Hey if Divac stays fine,But if he goes fine too..As long as he can help the Kings out in anyway i'm all for it,if not,he has to go Just my 2 cents here
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Kobe 8 Ball:</div><div class="quote_post">I agree, I think it is more beneficial, get the cap space back and Brad Miller would become the full time starter. </div> his contract expired this year, so he's not hitting the cap no more. he's a FA now. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">As a Laker fan I would not welcome Vlade back. And don't talk about the flopping stuff... look at fox and fisher, especially fisher... and complaining to the refs? look at kobe and george, if kobe misses a shot, he throws a fit if theres no foul called, and if george has a whistle blown against him, he acts like a baby who just had his pacifier taken away from him/her.

I dont think fan approval will have anything to do with Divac going anywhere, including the Lakers. They dont need him right now, no reason to sign him to any deals. Clippers need help, they can use him to be sure. as far as the money goes, sure they can toss that money at someone else... but they are going to have to find a back up center now... and a good one that can pass the ball and fit into this offense. I dont think that is going to be as easy as it sounds, but they may get lucky in the off season. Of course this is still mostly conjecture at this point with nothing official being said anywhere as of yet.

I'm glad he's helping us win, and we did need a bonafied PF, but I'm not a fan of him or his style of play. I lost respect for Malone ever since his comments about Magic Johnson, when Magic became HIV positive. Vlade is a flopper, so is Fisher, but Vlade is much worse. I don't like when any player flops and I think they should find a way to penalize players who overreact on a charge or fake the contact given by the offensive player. In soccer when a player fakes a fall and the official sees through their acting, they get hit with a yellowcard. I think the NBA should treat it as illegal defense and hit the team with technical foul for flopping. It's a disgrace to the integrity of the game and to the players who actually take a legit charge. I see it straight across the field and pointing fingers at Kobe or George complaining doesn't justify Vlade being able to complain. I understand emotions are high and often times refs do make the wrong call. But to run half way across the court with your hands in your hair and make a facial expression like you've just been shot is ridiculous. I can't stand when Devean jumps up and down after he makes an obvious reach in foul. However I wouldn't put Kobe in the same category as these two players. Kobe usually is in the right when he complains.

It will disgust me to see him win a ring after selling himself out. I cant say anything though if thats the way its meant to be, but it will disgust me.
well while the timberwolves series was going on i was thinking that Divac would have been an lovely aquisition for the wolves to have. in trying to get some fouls off the diesel. I think he would have done a better job than Olowokandi man. I think he should move on to the wolves.
