I heard the same thing on the radio. As a laker fan I wouldn't mind seeing him come off the bench to back-up shaq. He's one of the best passing big men in the game. I'm not sure how much game he has left but it would be nice to have a true center coming off the bench. We haven't had that in a while. I'm not too crazy about the flopping but I'll get over it. I don't know why so many laker fans hate the kings? That 2001 7 game series was amazing and it's not like they ever knocked us out of the playoffs. I wish we could play the kings in the playoffs every year. You got to respect the kings they play hard and bring the best out of the lakers.

However, they gave no credit to the Lakers winning the game and blamed it on the refs cheating for the Lakers blah blah blah. Second are the front-running, band-wagon fans ringing the cow bells. The Queens have been around for a lot of years, and these fans only appeared when the Queens started winning. They never supported the Queens prior to their success and even wanted them moved out of Sacramento. Just recently they've thrown things onto the court in the TWolves series for putting player's in jeopardy of getting injured. Does throwing something on the court and ringing a cowbell prove you're a hardcore fan? Of course not all Queen's fans fall in this category, and the ones who have actually been long time fans cannot stand the new generation of Queen fans. The competitive hate the fans and players have for one another is the reason these two teams bring the best out of one another. They are legit rivalry and will likely remain one for the next 3 to 5 years. I won't speak for Laker fans, but the ones I kick it with feel the same way about the way the Kings handled themselves in defeat. Unlike the class the Spurs and TWolves showed after the Lakers defeated them this year. Flip Saunders, KG, and Tim Duncan all gave praise and said the Lakers were simply the better team down the stretch of games. The Kings blame the refs and lucky shot by Horry for their loss. Too, bad they don't look at the plethora of free throws they missed down the stretch of Game 7, which ultimately led to their defeat.

Overall the years i've been a fan of the Kings,i have founded that not all,but a lot of Kings fans like saying anything they can to excuse the team from how they played and so on...i can admit when we weren't the better team Yes the Kings are a good team, who i feel can mix it up with a lot of the Elite NBA Teams, and everytime the Lakers and the Kings play, both teams bring out the best in each other, and yes there are improvements to be made to the Kings But in my opinon,i had to respond to your post, just to let you,and the Laker Fans know that not all Kings Fans are like that,so i just thought i'd put in my 2 cents here
Update on Divac leaving This article from 6/3 quoting Divac <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"I'm going to play one more season," he said Wednesday afternoon. "At the end of next year, I'll see how I feel. My first choice, like I've always said, is to play with the Kings. I want to retire here if possible. I love the town and the fans. "I just don't want to be stupid about it. If there is a perfect situation somewhere else, I could do that, but I don't see that happening." </div>

If Vlade goes, we won't take that much of a hit because we have Brad Miller to fill in the void and he's younger anyway. And we can have Darius Songaila come off the bench. I can't blame Vlade for wanting to leave with the same thing happening in the playoffs year after year. But if he goes to the Clippers, does he think that they'll have any more success than the Kings?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting sactown_dyme:</div><div class="quote_post">You respect the Kings but yet you refer to them as the "Queens". </div> I respect their basketball skills and their success on the court. I, like most Laker fans refer to them as the 'Queens' because of all the they do. There are different levels of respect, I thought that was obvious.
Wow, didnt know Shape respected them, I never have respected them, and I dont think I will. I cant stand how they cried after they lost two L.A., blamed everyone but themselves for losing and the other stuff they do.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting SmartyDime:</div><div class="quote_post">Vlade stays...end of story</div> Why does Vlade stay? He doesnt want to stay and he is a FA
Yes, he does want to stay...he wishes to retire as part of the Sacramento Kings. Read this if you're interested: http://www.sacbee.com/content/sports/baske...-10454337c.html or this one: http://www.sacbee.com/content/sports/baske...-10442696c.html
He's actually someone I'd rather keep, even over Webber. He has a veteran's mind and a sharp eye. His intelligence allows him to flop a lot of the time as well as his awesome court vision for someone of his position and size. However he is old and slow and not really that much of a threat on either end. So maybe it is about time this team went defensive and young, much like the Grizzlies.

And do we as Kings fan's want him back?
As a kings fan i would like to see him back, he adds a lot to the floor and provides leadership that would be sorely lacking if he were gone. As far as the Kings organization goes, they need a strong back up center that knows how to pass, he fits that bill for sure. I'm wondering if most of this was either just frustrations being vented or a radio guy trying to stir the ****
I think that if he stays that's great for himand for the Kings as well and you'll see about that throughout next year....
