What? Your friend doesn't know it's 10 feet? Oh and I didn't know that the 3pt line had an additional 9 inches back.

You should tell him to stop playing on those rims that you can lower to like 7 feet and those bedroom door nets because it's getting to his head, haha.

Man, thats very surprising he didn't know the rim was 10ft, and which 3 pt line do you want to know?(i don't know college or nba) Because they're different distances from the hoop. Wait i found it the 3 pt line listed above is the furthest distance for ncaa for the nba the furthest distance (top of the key) is 23'9".

I thought that the freethrow line from the rim was exactly 15 feet and the three-point line was 25 feet.

I don't know, maybe I play too much NBA Live 2004.

High-school and college are the same. NBA line is further out. There is no "exact" distance because it varies going from the sideline to the top of the key.

I certainly did not know that. Then which court for the three-point line in the NBA is shortest away from the basketball rim?

That's not true at all, of course there is an exact distance [IMG].

A 3-point line on an NBA regulation court has exactly two different dimensions, one for the arc as a whole and one for each side below the elbows. The entire arc of the 3-point line at any given place is exactly 23 feet 9 inches from the center of the hoop and below the elbows on the wing the 3-point line is exactly 22 feet from the center of the hoop and 3 feet from the out of bounds line.

This very basic information is readily available on the NBA's website.

BTW, I didn't close this thread and i'm not sure why it was closed.
