<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Minnesota point guard Troy Hudson has opted out of the final year of his contract with the Timberwolves to test free agency, his agent said Thursday night. "It doesn't preclude us from going back [to Minnesota]," Neff said. Hudson had a player option to stay with the team and make $2.1 million next season. Despite the injury, Neff said Hudson should command a higher salary than the $2.1 million he was scheduled to make. Asked whether Hudson wants to stay with the Wolves, Neff said: "It really depends on the offer."</div> Link
That is a smart move for Hudson, considering he was making little money for a player of his calibur, and he wasn't getting the minutes he deserved in Minnesota. Teams I think could be perfect for him: Toronto Orlando Atlanta Cleveland LA Clippers
I am not for sure that he is the type of back point guard the Wolves need anyway. They need someone who can run the offense & be a playmaker when Cassell isnt in the game. Its really hard when you have 2 shoot 1st point guards. I think thats part of the reason why the wolves hit that low after the all-star break, when both Cassell & Hudson was in the rotation. So if Hudson leaves, the Wolves need a to find a backup pg who is more of a creator than a scorer. And adding some defense off the bench at the pg spot would be good too.

It'd be a defensive nightmare but we'd score like gangbusters.
alvin williams would be a good fit for you guys off the bench at the point, and hudson is exactly what the raptors need to start. maybe we can work out some kind of sign and trade thing, and we'll all be happy. ps. try to ignore alvins absurd contract

Alvin is just what Henacy stated. His passing is not bad and he is not turnover-prone. Hope this can work...
yea man for real! he's great at not turning the ball over. very clean passer. hes got mad handles too...iv seen him bust some sick streetball moves at the vince carter charity all star games...obviously he doesnt do that kind of stuff during games, but he's got the handles. hes also a good shooter. not a great shooter...but certainly capable of kicking down jumpers from any spot on the floor. also pretty clutch...hes always hitting important shots at crucial times of the game his defense is decent too...works really hard and prides himself on d. only probs are injuries...but since the raps have serious issues at the point, hes logged TONS of minutes...as a back up pg, he'd prolly be relatively injury free. i honestly think he'd be a good fit for you guys
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Pssst: Word is Kevin Garnett has emphatically recommended to Timberwolves management that the team re-sign free-agent point guard Troy Hudson. However, insiders say the Wolves instead are trying to acquire Earl Watson of Memphis through a Charlotte-NBA expansion draft deal. That way, the Wolves feel, they wouldn't have to give Hudson a higher-paying contract. Hudson would be guaranteed $2.1 million for next season if he were not to opt out of his deal.</div> Link
I think his leaving may good for us, sure he's good, but that's strictly the point. If we were to think as his friends and fans, which we obviously are, we should think what's best for him rather than the team. He has skill and could be used more and much more effectively elsewhere, therefore in terms of doing it for his needs, he should go. As for us, I have reasons for wanting him to stay. Those performances where he shot the lights out really help with our bench scorers, Scerzbiak, Hassell, Madsen and Hoiberg. He was far more than capable of doing that quite alot unlike some of our other bench players. We do need an awesome backup though like I stated in what your team needs from the draft thread. Not exactly from a draft but my choice, not a specified player I said I wish was very intelligent, fast and an instant and complete threat. The player's that came in mind were the Jackson's, either Bobby or Mark. Both would do just fine. Another suggestion but from someone else that I rather liked was Alvin Williams, he has incredible effort and hustle, much like Madsen he could really boost our morale and help in times of dire need and danger zones.
Orlando should really try to bring T-HuD Back , I think we have like $5 - $7 mil available ... that wouldn't be as bad for a season.. just one..then after next season we might have enough money to sign him again for more..( $8 to $15 mil , since we get Hill off our back(hopefully) ). Not to mention , he would be a starter PG in Orlando..(I think) ..T-Mac would love T-Hud to be our Starting PG and we'll have T-HuD , T-Lue and T-Mac hehehe...
Great News!!! http://www.startribune.com/stories/511/4819026.html from the article: Now things are getting better. Hudson's right foot is in a walking boot, the crutches around for another week as a precaution. In a month, he can start rehab. Already, though, he is excited. <font color="DarkSlateBlue"><font size="4"><font face="Arial">"From the way I'm feeling now -- and I haven't even started icing and rehab yet -- almost all the swelling is gone," said Hudson, whose doctors found ligament damage in addition to the calcium buildup they had expected. "Now that I've got that ligament damage cleaned up . . . I should be back to normal by the end of July."</font></font></font> By then, Hudson's relationship with the Wolves, currently fuzzy, could be in much sharper focus. Or over. The 28-year-old guard opted out of the final year of his contract last week -- he would have made $2.1 million (minus incentives) -- and will hit the market July 1 as an unrestricted free agent. <font color="Red"><font size="4"><font face="Arial">Hudson qualifies as an "early Bird" player with the Wolves, eligible for a contract of up to six years, with a maximum starting salary of the league average (about $5 million).</font></font></font> That's terrific news!!! His ankle's healing well &, barring something unforeseen happening, should be able to work on his strength & his game long before camp starts. Also, the T'wolves can offer him up to the MLE without spending the MLE or even part of it because they own his Early Bird Rights. Signing him to a solid raise would ensure him staying with us because, also in the article, THud repeats that he wants to stay here. THud was happy that KG lobbied for keeping him here in the postgame interview.
