Apparently the T-Mac trade is more evident than I thought. I don't think the Magic would get much better value than Ray Allen. Of course, McGrady is a little better and younger at this point, and so more valuable. Even though people have been criticizing the fact that he doesn't make his teammates better, Ray isn't exactly the best in that department, either. I say the Sonics make a trade such as this:

Seattle trades: PF Vladimir Radmanovic (12.0 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 1.8 apg in 30.2 minutes)
PG Antonio Daniels (8.0 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 4.2 apg in 21.3 minutes)
SG Ray Allen (23.0 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 4.8 apg in 38.4 minutes)
Seattle receives: PF Drew Gooden (11.6 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 1.1 apg in 27.0 minutes)
SG Tracy McGrady (28.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 5.5 apg in 39.9 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -3.4 ppg, +0.1 rpg, and -4.2 apg.

Orlando trades: PF Drew Gooden (11.6 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 1.1 apg in 27.0 minutes)
SG Tracy McGrady (28.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 5.5 apg in 39.9 minutes)
Orlando receives: PF Vladimir Radmanovic (12.0 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 1.8 apg in 77 games)
PG Antonio Daniels (8.0 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 4.2 apg in 71 games)
SG Ray Allen (23.0 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 4.8 apg in 56 games)
Change in team outlook: +3.4 ppg, -0.1 rpg, and +4.2 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

That leaves a big gap at point guard, obviously, so they'd need to try very hard to resign Barry. Still, the starting lineup looks pretty good.

    C: Potapenko
    PF: Gooden
    SF: Lewis
    SG: McGrady
    PG: Murray

The defense hasn't gotten any better with the trade, so Nate would still be on his way out, but I think this would benefit the Supes.

Well, for all his detractors, rumours of being selfish etc, the fact remains this fella is still a megastar. Supremely talented and would bring in the fans bigtime - he also brings the allround game that Ray brings, and is actually a fairly decent defender when he puts his mind to it (maybe Nate could get the best out of him?)

I had heard that Orlando were interested in Radmanovic last season too - maybe an alternative straight up deal of Vlad for Drew Gooden could also be a possibility for us with the Magic?

EDIT: Just realised to get Gooden we'd have to give up Vlad and AD, which might be a bit much.

I like this deal, trading a superstar for a megastar and adding youthful talent like Drew Gooden is probably the best deal Seattle can make. I can blot out the "personality issues" T-Mac has when hes putting up near 30 points a game and bringing more and more fans in.

Pretty good deal. I like it.

We get Ray Allen, a franchise player who has a great attitude. However, he isn't as versatile as McGrady and doesn't attract the fans like McGrady does. In comparison to the two, Ray has the better jumper - but McGrady is the better passer & rebounder.

Antonio Daniels is a solid PG, which is something Orlando desperately needs. He actually reminds me of a lesser version of Eric Snow - underrated yet appreciated.

Much like the Sonics, Orlando's defense wouldn't improve much either. Hopefully with Okafor in the lineup, things could gel as Allen/Okafor could make a great duo.

Of course not, we'll take it. [IMG]

Ray and Vlad are in the last years' of their deals so for any teams to legitamently want to pursue them (especially them trading one of their superstars) we would have to do a sign and trade. Anytime you could get a superstar player like McGrady you should go for it but T-Mac has too much leverage in his organization to accept a trade deal to another non-contending team.

Yep, while I would LOVE Tmac as a Sonic, I have doubts he'd want to play here.. Definitely not a contender, though probably tons better than Orlando.

Very good point Shiek, the emphasis IMO is on the phrase 'no player is bigger than the team'. We had problems (although small ones) with Ray elevating himself in this team, I can only imagine McGrady would be ten times worse.
