McDyess, 29, will not be anywhere near as expensive as he was last time.

His knee injuries, including the broken kneecap that changed his life and is not held together by screws, have dropped his stock dramatically. He has played just 52 games the past two seasons. Miller said McDyess is healthy enough to start a season right now, and can play any number of minutes or games a team needs.

I wouldn't mind having him for the right price. We could always use a player of his abilities, although his injury problems could be a turn-off. However, he could give us a lot with his scoring and rebounding in the low post.

I like that idea, but first they gotta trade away either Mo Taylor or Weatherspoon, leave Cato to back up Yao... Injury concerns are there though...

McDyess? I don't really know how well he will fit into Van Gundy's rotation or if he can produce the way he used to, but for the right price why not give him a chance.

I think McDyess will be a lovely additon to any team. Especially because he has so much potential at such a low price tag.

The only problem I would see is how he can perform with alot of contact. I noticed the Suns didnt play him alot, I dont know if that was because of injury or what. But i was sure looking forward to seeing McDyess and Amare reaking havoc in the post together.

If I was int he Rockets position if McDyess came for the right price i would give him a chance. he might could even play pf next to Yao. The ony problem i see with this idea is that the Rockets will have such a plethora of big ment that someone want get the playing time they deserve alla McDyess maybe.

But all in all he could help the Rockets if they are styill looking to move francis with Farncis, McDyess, and another player form the rockets roster i believe they could get a get some really nice offers in return.

We have to clear Weatherspoon's contract. I would like to continue seeing Mo Taylor providing offense off the bench. If we can get McDyess, Cato can back Yao up at the 5. That gives us a strong frontcourt, offensively and defensively.

I'm going to miss Cato a lot if he goes, he plays well with what time he does and what responsibilities he's given. I like McDyess and all, but I feel regardless of his being a seasoned veteran, he doesn't really have anything to offer. He was one of the strongest the game had to offer, but he's no Malone. I don't think this should be done. The injury he had could seriously ruin his game. His game however fits in with the Rockets, he plays pretty good defense.

As good defensively as Cato is, he is still an offensive non-factor, foul-prone, and overpriced. I'd rather see him come off the bench to spell Yao at the center position. Mcdyess is a veteran role player who, at this stage, should be willing to take up a lesser role. He can also do it all if his injuries don't bother him and he returns to his top form. It will be much of a risk, though. We won't know whether he'll turn out to be like Vin Baker or become our biggest surprise of next season.

Man I love watching Dyess ball, personally I think he's still got it.. He can boogy with the best of em. Dyess in Houston, Weatherspoon in ??????????? Dyess is the past, but still has talent like allan houston but Clarence Weatherspoon is the future, I really like Dyess but i think that the Rockets would benefit more from Weatherspoon.

I too would miss Cato if he was to leave, but I hope he stays...McDyess would be a nice though unreliable addition who can probably give you 8-10 ppg/6 rpg...a forward rotation of Cato-Taylor-McDyess would look pretty nice...

i remember around mid-season after he was traded to phx that he said he would like to play with kidd again, now wants to play in houston. i think he will just go where the most money is b/c with his knee you/he won't know how much he can give to a team and how long he can stay healthy so he will want to make sure he is financially secure. if he is healthy, he can help both squads, more houston b/c of his size in the west.

Weatherspoon the future? He is actually older than Dyess.
