Maybe they're just trying to rub it in the pistons face that they can win this series without playing 100% 100% of the time but last night the lakers looked like they could care less about playing their hearts out. The bench looked confused. Gary Payton looked small. Karl Malone looked old. And kobe just looked bored. Shaq seemed to be the only one acting like he was in a finals game and even he appeared detatched at times. This seems to be a slap in the face to those who would say that kobe is the GOAT because no one works harder and no one is more focused etc. I dont care what anyone says, Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, Kareem, Magic, Bird, would NEVER look like that in an NBA finals game. Kobe got his 24 points because he may have as much or more talent than one, two or all of those guys depending on how you look at it and perhaps more importantly shaq as always was the focull point of the opposing D so kobe pretty much got what he wanted even though his shot selection was less than spectacular. But kobe should be ashamed of such a complacant performance and his fans should be embarrassed. perhaps his legal troubles are distracting him
I don't see how you could even consider putting this on Kobe.. He did have a couple of bad shots that we all questioned, but why the hell should Kobe only be ashamed? Every Laker should be ashamed of the way they played as a team in game 1, but Kobe ashamed of himself.. what the hell? Detroit's "focull" point of their defense was not Shaq, they talked about this the whole game haven't you noticed? They played him 1 on 1, and let him do basically everything he wanted. The Pistons did a great job as a team to shut down the Lakers as a team. Kobe had a pretty bad offensive night, but he also had a very good defensive game. On the other hand Shaq had a great offensive game, but he also had an off defensive night. And tell me, why the hell should I be embarrassed of as a fan? He worked hard last night, and that can't be said for any of his teammates. I don't see anything to be "embarrassed" about, so please tell me what I should be embarrassed about. IMO you should be "embarrassed" of this thread you started.
How can you say Kobe didn't play hard last night? He chased Rip Hamilton around for all four quarters and held him to 5-16 from the field to go along with 6 turnovers. He did take questionable shots on offense and wasn't taking it to the hole enough. The Lakers lost because the Pistons didn't allow a third player to step up. After Shaq's 34 and Kobe's 25, the next person, Malone, only managed 5 points.
oh please! you cant tell me that kobe didnt look as complacent if not more so than the rest of the lakers in game 1
No he didn't look more complacent than the rest of the Lakers. The entire team played flat and refused to move without the ball. The most complacent award goes to Slava Medvedenko. Maybe this is why the Lakers were so distracted. http://www.justbball.com/forums/showthread...0020#post250020
^ yeah I bet that was why, every timeout they would see those, and whenever they got back onto the court that was all they could think of.. hey, that explains why they looked like they didn't know what the hell they were doing out there!
You want the truth about Kobe? Look at last nites game the 2.1 shot & getting to the hoop over and over against a strong defensive team and taking over in clutch time. Nuff said.
I don't see how you can blame this on Kobe. Lets see you get out there and chase Rip Hamilton around all game and than be able to make shots. He was exhausted. And, despite that, he was still playing fantastic defense and he was still trying to help his team. There is no way you can blame this on Kobe. His offense may have been stagnant, but, his defense was great and he still had 25 points. Blame the role players more-so than Kobe. They did nothing. No one outside of Kobe and Shaq did anything at all. There is no way in hell you can stick that loss squarely on Kobe.
i dont think kobe should be blamed for their loss in game 3. The whole team should be embarassed about the way they played in game 3.
