<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Wave:</div><div class="quote_post"> He was the oldest player in the league, pal. I think he was like 41 or 42 years old. He dissapeared to a retirement home. His career was the best way before he got into Indiana anyway. With Dallas he was a consistant 15 ppg and 8 rpg player. He also had nice stints with the Sonics and Lakers. One season he averaged as much as 16.5 ppg and 8.8 rpg. That was way back in 1991 though. He was a rookie in 1984. Wow... </div> He was still pretty good with the Pacers.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting That NBA Girl:</div><div class="quote_post">Sam Clancy.... a Sixers' draft pick a few years ago. He never played but I always heard good things about him. Knee and back injuries are real killers in the NBA. They've taken out some of the league's best. It's very difficult to recover from them. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">He was still pretty good with the Pacers.</div> His career with them was mediocre. He was getting into his upper 30's and early 40's. To add to that, he was in a Pacers lineup that featured Rik Smits, Antonio Davis, and Dale Davis. Each of those other centers was an All-Star at one point of time. Either way, he wasn't a player that people thought would be good but just dissapeared. He was in the league for about 17 or 18 years; far from a dissapearance.
Sam Clancy kinda reminded me of Marcus Fizer, same kinda player that coulda possibly been alot better w/o that career ruining injury. Here's his profile from back in the day. http://nbadraft.net/profiles/samclancy.htm Also does anyone remember Ryan Minor from Oklahoma or Oklahoma St? He got drafted by the 76ers and then left due to a SS position with the Orioles. He was supposed to be the replacement for Cal Ripkin.

Jonathan Bender a 5th draft pick in one of the best draft in history and he dont make anything very good. Alek Radojevic same think he was a very bad bad player :S laron profit jerome moiso Corey Benjamin (he won a one on one versus MJ) corleone Young ed gray olivier sant jean (tariq abdul wahad) priest lauderdale felton spencer :S
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Wave:</div><div class="quote_post">Speaking of Virginia players, what ever happened to Roger Mason, Jr. and Travis Watson?</div> Mason is here in Toronto. He was traded for Rick Brunson. Did pretty well with the time he got, but his future doesn't look bright, especially with Rob Babcock coming in as the GM.

He was All-American caliber at Virginia.

He was a tweener...He was too slow to be a SF, but too short to be a PF...plus he wasn't that athletic.
I expected big things from Keith Jennings. That cat had game to spare even after he was hurt. Too bad he never caught on anywhere..coulda been the first Earl Boykins.
What about Ronnie Fields? He played with KG and if I'm not wrong, was better than him at the time. He didn't even make the NBA.
Kalid Elameen. I think he was playing in like Isreal or something. Last I heard people hated him because he is muslum and that he was being treatened all the time. He had skills and I think he still does have skills. He got critized for being heavey but thats just his build, he is still quick and a good scorer. Lovar Postell. I thought that he would eventually get his chance to get some real pt and show people what he was made of. He played along side Artest at St. Johns and I really though he had what it takes. Remember his famous remarks? "I could be an all-star if I got as many touches as Houston and Sprewell", or something like that. I think he had the skills and the work ethic but just wasnt in the Knicks plans. and whatever happened to Joesph Forte? I dont know too much about him but I remember him at NC and he had skills. I was positive that he would be good in the league but I guess it never really panned out.

I'd say that was the biggest reason he didn't make it. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jmonty580:</div><div class="quote_post">and whatever happened to Joesph Forte? Until his attitude improves to above the 3rd grade level I doubt he'll ever get another serious look.

I don't even think an attitude adjustment would have allowed him to survive the league. He just wasn't cut out for it. Yeah Ronnie Fields had an accident, but I don't know what type of player he would have been. I've only seen highlight mixes of him dunking, nothing more. I haven't run into anyone who can say for sure what kind of success he would have had if he was healthy. Richard Dumas anyone?
For #1 picks olowakandi and joe smith hasn't done anything good in the league. I was surprised when i saw that they were the top choices a few years ago.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting 30 standing ver:</div><div class="quote_post">Well Terrell Brandon was an all-star and all. But man, what happened to him? I know he got injured and all, but I don't even see him sitting on the sidelines like Grant Hill. Oh and I honestly thought Predrag Savovic would be a solid player in the league. Oh well.</div> I thought that Savovic would be legit in the league, too. He was mature and could definitely shoot the ball, but he couldn't create his own shot. Had he played for a good team (not the 17-65 Denver Nuggets, and where other people could get him open shots) I definitely think that he would have made it. People I really liked in college who have flopped as pros: Andre Woolridge (Iowa) Harold Arceneaux (Weber St.) B.J. Tyler (Texas) Lee Scruggs (his junior year at Georgetown) Eddie Griffin (Seton Hall) Kelvin Cato (Iowa St.) Travis Hansen (BYU) Rashad Philips (Detroit) Jason Caffey (Alabama) Gabe Muoneke (Texas) Danny Fortson (the best pound for pound rebounder in the league, Cincinnati) LeAndrew Bass (UAB) Kiwane Garris (Illinois) Jerryl Sasser (SMU) Now I didn't think all of these players would be stars in the league (some I didn't even think would get drafted), but I do believe that everyone of these players has definitely underachieved.
