"<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">New Raptors GM Rob Babcock, who was unveiled yesterday in Toronto, said that while no player in the NBA is untradeable, he currently has no intention of trading Carter. Be that as it may, Babcock was presented with a point-blank scenario: What if Carter contacts you, says he hopes you understand it's nothing personal, but he wants to be traded. How would Babcock respond? "Well, Vince is just not going to flat believe everything I say,"</div> Full Article This is irritating, Vince hasn't said anything yet and the media started yapping that he wants to get traded. All he suggested was that he'd support the decesion if Erving gets hired, and that was a month ago, and after Babcock got hired the press immediatley assumed that he's unhappy and wants to get traded. Vince repeatedley said he love the city and the fans and wants to be here ( ie. last month at The Best Damn Sports Show Period he said he wants to be a "Raptor For Life". Hopefully we'll hear Vince's opinion about this hiring very soon to clarify this mess!
Stupid media...well, at least this shows the beginning of a new season of Raptorland, where conspiracies, false assumptions, and lies run amuck like a chicken with no head.
Once again, the media tries to make people think Vince wants out. I cannot count on my fingers and toes the amounts of times the media makes something up that in no way whatsoever is true. Vince will be a Raptor for at least 3 more years. Vince does not care that Dr. J is not GM, infact, he only made the call to peddie about the interview for Dr. J because his mom told him to .
apparently this has a lot more legs than u might think, the pre draft camp in the windy city is flooded with vince trade rumours. the winds of change?
^I heard that on the Fan this afternoon. I dunnow hy Vince would wanna leave. We have a core that can win, we just need ot develop our bench and 1 and 5 man.
To win you need more than just a "core". The teams that go on in the playoffs have an established starting 5 (not just a 2, 3, and 4 man), and winning teams have effective benches. I don't know if the Raps have enough cap room to get all of the pieces together for next year. That's probably why Babcock is saying in two years this team will contend.
I know for a fact that Vince is not being traded this offseason. The media is a cancer to the truth and reality. They talk like Tracy will automatically be traded, because I also know for a fact that he will stay with the Magic. I also know for a fact that Vince will atleast stay with the Raptors untill his contract expires, which is in 2007. Basically, I think Vince will be a Raptor for life.
