However, insiders say the Wolves instead are trying to acquire Earl Watson of Memphis through a Charlotte-NBA expansion draft deal. That way, the Wolves feel, they wouldn't have to give Hudson a higher-paying contract. Hudson would be guaranteed $2.1 million for next season if he were not to opt out of his deal.</div> Source
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">Source</div> That was in Charlie Walter's column & as every Minnesota sports fan knows, Charlie's full of BS & never gets that stuff right. See the THud thread for the Strib article on THud. It's quite different. Besides, it'd be stupid to not sign THud to an extension when your franchise player, who's also a helluva talent evaluator, lobbies for a player that's a difference-maker. Fast, hot-shooting PG's that know how to play the game, aren't exactly overabundant right now.
If that happens, Minnesota gets a not so solid PG comparing him to T-Hud. but then again he is plauged with injuries and stuff, and is much older also, so maybe not a stupid idea.
Its probably smarter to stay with Hudson. Its not like hes really PLAGUED with injuries, he just happened to be injured during te season they needed him most. Hes shown hes an excellent PG so I think they shouyd hold on too him.

He's at least as good a PG as most of the starting PG's from this year's playoff teams. If we don't keep him, then we'd have to sign a PG that isn't as good or we'd have to use a healthy portion of our MLE. Neither option sounds appealing, to say the least.
