<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Chungster:</div><div class="quote_post">Basketball isI believe the NBA currently has more white stars than ever.</div> If you believe that, you have been horribly misinformed.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Accord:</div><div class="quote_post">The saying "white men can't jump" isn't just a myth, it's a medical and physiological fact, lol. The genetic makeup of black people causes them to generally have longer achilles tendons than that of any other race and the thickness and makeup of muscle fibers in black people are also slightly different than any other race which which enables them to jump higher, run faster, and just generally be all around more athletic than other races. Now don't get me wrong, of course there will be exceptions in every case, but this reigns true for most athletes and what I stated above is documented medical fact, I studied it in my college anatomy class last semester. The best athletes in the world, regardless of sport, are almost always going to be black. It doesn't matter if it's track and field, baseball, basketball, football, marathon running, soccer, and even hockey... yes that's right I said hockey! Jarome Iginla is the best hockey player in the NHL and the entire world right now and he's black. And I must emphasize, nothing I said above was intended to be racist, prejudice, or anything along those lines and I hope nobody interprets what I said as negative, because it's not. This is a mature adult discussion and I expect people will receive what I have said in a mature way and not start talking about racism and political correctness.</div> is the college anatomy class at bob jones university? there is no corroborating scientific evidence to affirm your delusional, insecure assertions. all racial theories (like rushton?s) about hierarchies (physical or intellectual) have been dismissed by modern genetics. its funny cause people selectively compile their data; blacks have disproportionately high representation in professional sports yet they are afflicted with obesity, cardiovascular disease and diabetes at outrageously high rates. stuff to think about. btw, ignila isn?t the best player in league its peter forsberg but that?s subjective, i guess. GO NADER!!!

So Peja, Gasol or Dirk are technically more "white" than Larry Bird. My take on the whole situation is that Bird has a vested interest on people recognizing he was the best white player ever, and his ego got the best of him. He basically said "I was as good as the black players".
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post"> My two cents, I watch the game and cheer for the talent on the court, I could care less what race they are. Last time I checked the NBA is more popular than ever. When Kobe Bryant makes a game winner I'm screaming at the top of my lungs, if Kobe was white would I cheer louder? Nope.</div> Amen. Bird's comments were stupid to say the least. I haven't read the hwole thread cuzI'min a rush but I hear stupid stuff like this all the time.(ie J.Kidd/M. Bibby). They are jsut stupid comments. You cannot see more white superstars if there are no white peoplewilling to focus andtyr to be one. bUt this whole hting just brings up North American Culture and what it is. Double Standards and Stereotypes

GO NADER!!!</div> You got to that topic before I did lol. I agree, on the genetic level, we are all the same. One noted difference though is that blacks, especially black men, die at an earlier age than do white men (especially due to diseases as what deception has said). So if someone is griping about black people dominating in professional sports, that is a considerable drawback with a higher "fitness" level in any environment.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting notMuchgame:</div><div class="quote_post">I guarentee u if there was a filipino ball player in the NBA, u'd root for him too. That's just human nature...</div> , like I cheer for a former UH player making the league and even more so if the guy was actually Hawaiian. This guy would be the first and would draw alot more attention to the league as well. I agree with what Dre posted on everything. Larry Bird was just being real with it. It is a blackman's game and the only white all-stars now are European. Is Wally an american citizen? Because if he is, I think he's the last white american to make the all-star team since John Stockton.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Sabretooth:</div><div class="quote_post">Usually the crowd cheers for a Madsen, Walton, or Buechler because of the energy they bring, not the color of their skin. And the question should be asked of themselves (the fans that want a white, latino, asian to relate to) are you a true fan of the game? Because if you are, you won't care who dunks the ball or takes the charge.</div> Exactly, man. I dunno if this is gonna get pulled off but here's my take. Voskuhl is my favorite Sun not because he's white but because he plays with what seems to be controlled intensity (meaning no hard elbows or much trash talk) and quite a bit of hustle. Dives for every loose ball. Harasses his man. Finds the open man. Does recovery (cleans up and does put backs a retail joke). And he does all this without the wingspan, the vertical, or the speed of a better athlete. He contends every call while only getting a handful of technicals for the year. He never looks bored. He never looks lost. He never looks like he's so good he's just going through the motions to make people happy I really don't like Amare Stoudemires game because he's all power right now. He's inconsistent with his hustle and has little finesse. But Emeka's game was really good to see. Skill. Not a white thing. Though hustle, awkwardness, and skill over athleticism are not a white thing that's what some people mean when they talk about a "white game". Like when they were talking about Ginobili (though only the awkwardness and hustle apply because he is every bit as athletic as he is skilled)

This has nothing to do with Bird. My opinion on who are the greatest athletes in the world.. the men who train the hardest, that's all.

There's a Puerto Rican guy coming into the league. Peter John Ramos. And yeah what is up with the racial slur in that s/n? Cboy, If you aren't Chinese or are Chinese, either way that's really sad.
