The Magic, who will have two second-round choices in the June 24 draft, have been impressed with 6 foot-5 shooting guard Romain Sato of Xavier; 6-1 point guard Chris Duhon of Duke; 6-0 point guard Antonio Burks of Memphis; 6-5 shooting guard Desmon Farmer of USC; and 6-9 forward Deng Gai of Fairfield. The camp concludes Friday. </div> Full Story This kinda scares me. I'd hate to have Hill comeback and play well for another team. We've already wasted 3 years with him. Another one wouldn't hurt. It would be a huge blow if the Bobcats picked him and then traded him for some picks and/or players. Regarding the camp notes. If we can somehoe grab Duhon at #30 that would be a steal. But I see his stock going up and going late 1st round now.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Einitials:</div><div class="quote_post">Good get rid of Grant Hill. For the last 4 years he has been nothing but a waste.</div> dude just wait until he returns... hopefully you'll have to backtrack and take back those words!!!
If he does comeback like the old hill it would be all the wait. But if not I'll be a pissed Magic fan.
That's hardcore, I think he could contribute a lot but getting his contract of the books would be awesome. Will he play like a MAX contract player. But you have to look at what fre agents are available next year. Does anyone know?

But he still won't greatly contribute on post, won't bring that much toughness, and probably can't run the point very well... If Hill's contract would be eliminated(hopefully by Bobs drafting him and then releasing him at no expense to their cap, for a couple of Magic's draft picks), Orlando will have space to sign decent point guards and big men. <u>Possible</u> Free-Agents <u>PF/C</u> Rasheed Wallace(probably will re-sign with Pistons though) Kenyon Martin Erick Dampier Marcus Camby Mehmet Okur Stromile Swift(might re-sign) Keon Clark Karl Malone Antonio McDyess Vlade Divac??? <u>PG</u> Steve Nash Brent Barry Nick Van Exel Jamal Crawford Carlos Arroyo Rafer Alston Troy Hudson Gary Payton Charlie Ward Mike James Looking at the list, I would go with any two/one of some, over an aging, injury prone Grant Hill who probably won't bring what Magic is really missing...
If Hill is playing the PG, he's better than 3/4 of those players(when healthy). The other 1/4 we can't even afford. As for the PF/C. we can't afford any of those guys unless they take the exemption. And most of them will probably re-sign with their teams. And why would we need a PF if we're probably going to take Okafor or Howard? Camby and Dampier on the only centers on thier, Divac is washed up. The rest are PF. And we already have 8 of them. G.Hill will be off the books next year if he gets hurt again. We've already waited for 3, another one won't hurt. If he plays well for ANOTHER team the Magic will look like even bigger fool for absolutely getting nothing from him the last 4-5 yrs.

He's got screws in his ankle, he hasn't played consistent ball for about 3 years and even his trainers/doctors are not 100% sure he can comeback and even play... With all these problems, I don't see him starting, and consistently running the point... Actually thats six PFs(if you count PF/c and Okafor/Howard) . Sure we would look like fools if he plays well for another team, but we will look even foolier if he stops playing again this season because Magic will abuse him just like they did last year. "If Hill cannot play this season-or does not play in more than 10 games-and has to quit playing, his cap number comes off the books next January for the team that has him under contract." -Some hope there...

If he comes back and is good enough then that would be awesome..if not he'll be out for the other season and all plans didn't include him. BTW , Chris Duhon in the 2nd round? I wouldn't mind trading Reece Gaines and T-Lue If I know Duhon is going to be our backup PG.
I agree with everyone who said that Hill is going to come back provide leadership and advice for all the younger players He will be great but not as great as he was in is prime
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Einitials:</div><div class="quote_post">Sorry I already fell for that 3 times in a row. I'm not going to fall for it again. Take his ass out</div> LOL. How true. Every year they're saying that it will be Hill's comeback season and we have to watch out for him. Only to see him walking in the pool for rehab.
Hill's contract is a max contract. So we could prob afford Dampier, Camby or Divac and a point gaurd. That's not a bad option. You have to remember we didn't have hill last year so any addition will be a help to the team!
I would give Hill 1 more shot. He is opting out and will give us money to max someone out. Build the team though, like Hill won't be healthy. The years before last, we built the team as if Hill was going to be there and we were really disappointed. Even if he comes back and plays well, I think Hill will still opt out of his contract and take a much smaller contract. (He seems like a really classy guy)

I hope he does that as he's stolen millions from the Magic already.
Grant Hill is literally a 6'8 version of Jason Kidd. He would make the Magic a championship contending team. Keep him. Even if he busts next season, keep him untill he has to retire.
